Default SDconnect "batteries cannot be charged"

    Hi all

I have a clone SDconnect and it keeps displaying the message "batteries cannot be charged". I have fitted 2400mAh Ni-MH batteries in it, but it still won't charge....and they drain out after a while. Does anyone know what kind of batteries are supposed to be fitted in these multiplexers?

    Hi
I had the same problem with my SDC clone. Check 4 wires inside, connector from pcb to battery holder.
I have fitted 2100mAH Ni-MH batteries. Works good.

I don't use my multiplexer very often and the batteries kept draining so I installed a switch that isolates the batteries. Now when I use my multiplexer I just turn the switch on and when finished I turn the switch off. After I installed the switch I saw "batteries cannot be charged" message a few times. I opened the multiplexer and checked everything but found nothing wrong. I think it was caused by some additional resistance that came with the switch and its wiring. At least I haven't seen that message anymore.

I also installed a switch in mine XD But it still drains...and the SD connect won't recharge them when they're drained. And this isn't my first SD connect so I thought I might not be using the correct battery type...
What type of battery do you use?

I use Sony Eneloop 2000mAh batteries. Their selfdischarge is very slow, if I remember correctly it is 20% in a year.

When I use my multiplexer it starts charging every time even the batteries should be full. Star manual states that when you put new batteries to the multiplexer you must leave it charging for 24 hours. I suppose it calibrates during that time. Maybe using the switch resets that calibration.
