    Default Starview USB packed up

    Hi Gents
Only had this Starview box just over 2 months and its throwing up a 8882 code ??? no pic no sound, is there a cure for this or do I bin it ?

I e-mailed dvb -monkey where I bought it from and so far no responce.. I am very dissapointed to say the least, I was expecting it to last a little longer than 2 1/2 months

any suggestions / cures greatly appreciated..

    Will.. :-(

Easy enough as they come with full instructions, but lets see how the supplier looks after you first.

I would be interested to see how they respond, please let us know.

The outcome so far... I E-mailed DVB-Monkey 3-4 times this & last week for a responce to my Starview problem.. no replies whatso ever, so looks like they dont want to know about broken down boxes.

    Great customer care NOT !!!!!

Looks like I will be buying a Max232. I wont be getting anything else from DVB-Monkey..

How easy is it to fix the Max232 ?? do I need to dig out my soldering iron??

Not very good at all as you have said. The Max232 is easy enough and no soldering required.

You will get one here as already linked to above Tailor-Made Circuits they also ship it with a CD containing instructions, loader and firmware.

Finally it gives me great pleasure to release v8 for Ireland.

this image includes a fix for all channels on the nagra2 system,
only cam included in image is a working hypercam.

This is a iTgate ONLY fix for now,,,( will NOT work on a dreambox, and k**s wont work with the public dreambox version )
We have ipbox version fix to come in next day or two.

Working movie-player is another good bonus ( Fixed VLC type plugin, tutorial will be posted separately soon ), and a much up-to-date CVS and tidier image from 7.9.

Boot logo appears with "V8 Ireland Image " on it to stop any confusing,

images for all itgate boxes will be released in next 24 hours, with all images also going on internet update soon in next day or so

please remember if you update with internet to factory reset your box afterwards,
please use latest version of control centre to flash this image, and chose factory reset from itgate control centre settings for after flash.

I thank you for your patience whilst we got our boxes back up and running, but At least now the linux world is alive again in Ireland!.

Please dont ask how long this fix will last,,,,,, its like asking how long a piece of string is

Big thankyou,,, sorry, MASSIVE THANKYOU to Hypercam Team, you know who you are!!

Big thankyou to our very patient testing team.. mainly Dave and Mark
Big thankyou to Gav ( again you know who you are ) for help aquiring the cards needed for this

    Enjoy folks.

Guys in UK,,, if you want to use this image you will need to use your backed up cams and k**s using itgate backup manager from v7.9
We will be again merging the firmwares to 1 release in future, but for now to stop confusing the k**s in image released only has support in for ireland n2.

i will release a v8 uk ( or joint version ) version after ireland all up and running happily.

    LONG LIVE HYPERCAM !
    flash and be happy

    TGM220v8IrelandComplete.zip - TGM220 And TGC200
    TGC210v8irelandComplete.zip - TGC210 only
    TGC220v8Irelandcomplete.zip - TGC220 only

Im sure iTgate owners will know where to look for image
I will upload ipbox fix for DK users here probably tommorow.

Its a question you should pose to Satman and the Hypercam team they are currently supporting both their Itgate and IPBox. So like the Kryptview they will be the only supported boxes on the Nagra 2 crypt in Ireland.

But at least its another box/boxes fix for Ireland.

Finally got the box back up & running

I bought from maplins a USB to serial convertor for ?15.00 put it through the Dmax and was up & running in 5 mins, didnt have to reinstall, it must have kept the channel memory..

I bought my SV 4 Box from DVB Monkey.. I think I was the monkey for buying it.. no response from 6 e-mails.. avoid this company with a bargepole gents..

Thank you to everyone for your help..

    Till next time
    Will..
