Default XProg-m Repair Guide using AVR Dude. Easy and Effective

For those who have tried to update xprog-m and bricked the xprog-m
Follow the following steps in order to get it repaired quickly.

    1. Buy USBAsp tiny programmer from eBay or Aliexpress.com which is about $3.00 (Very handy little programmer)
    2. Install AVR Dude. ( Can be downloaded here: AVRDUDE - AVR Downloader/UploaDEr )
    3. If you have pin 2.5mm pin headers, just solder them to the XPROG BDM locations as shown in picture. This will help to connect DuPont cables directly from USBAsp to the XPROG and handy when update again.
    4. Instead of using JTAG connector, you can use duPont cables to connect USBAsp to XPROG as per picture ( it is on the RAR attachment).
    5. Connect the USBAsp to computer (Drivers will install automatically)
    6. Open the Command Prompt where AVRDude installation is located (Open as an administrator)
    7. Put Flash.bin and EEPROM.Bin files (Supplied in RAR file) to the AVRDude folder where you are working.
    8. Issue the following command.

    avrdude -c USBasp -p m64 -e -U flash:w:flash.bin -U eeprom:w:eeprom.bin -U lfuse:w:0x2F:m -U hfuse:w:0x8A:m -U efuse:w:0xFF:m

All done. Your XProg is back to life.

Press thanks and reputation button if this helps you.

Guys, I am in the process of preparing Version 5.45 original flash dump to upgrade your existing xprog-m < 5.45 to Version 5.45. Once ready, will post that here. This is not software upgrade, but actually the hardware.

    Regards

Isn't it better to have alternative methods to repair xprog? What about the people who don't have UPA and get their xprog repaired in cheap alternative ways?
