Default What kind of transponder chip I need to generate dealer key using BMW Multi Tool V5.9

    Hi M8's

    Good Day!

I just ordered a BMW Multi Tool V5.9 and I have following question. Please help me out!
    1. I don't know which chip can be used to generate dealer key 7935 Blank or Philips 44?
    2. Will I be able to program a dealer key with BMW Multi Tool to the vehicle?
    3. How strong is the plastic casing of the remote key made in china? Will it break easily?
    4. Is there any documentations charts showing the remotes and immobilisers systems installed
on BMW's by years and model?

    Please help me out!

    Thanks. ^^

    Hi Neverquite,
For the EWS cars I use the AK90, it has worked great for me.. I have had a BMW multi tool for about a six months and hadn't used it.. I had a customer ask if I could do a key for a 2007 325i so I tried it.. I had left my main laptop at the shop, but I had the cd in the box with the multi tool. It took me longer to install the software than it did to program the remote key to the car.. As for the china keys, they work just fine for me.. Have had a couple of VW keys come back, but only the flat keys with the light.. I made a quick vid to show how frickin easy it was to program the key...

Can you overwrite a used key position on a CAS car like for an EWS car? When I do ews keys I like to use a slot for a lost key instead of a new one (ie slot 10 or something) so that keys ordered from the dealer in the future will still work without problems. Are there any restrictions? (do they have to be the same type of key/transponder that was originally used in that slot?)

Concerning AK90 is there any risk of lose synchronization when disconnecting the EWS from the Vehicle?
Do u have the White AK90 or the Red AK90+. Which one should I buy?
Do you use the socket provided to read in-circuit?

Done hundreds by disconnecting ews from vehicle and there is no issue with synchronization. Yes, read it in circuit works well. Both of them are fine, get the cheapest.

    ews = used key pos.
cas = used or free key pos. i always use free pos 4 as always free and owner can still get fob direct from bmw later date. don't know if issue but safe

by the way, for ews xx47J mask take out of circuit

I have the older black model.. it has worked well. The only time I have seen an EWS get out of sync with the ECM is when a customer tried putting a different EWS in the car and tryed to start the car.. I have a 3 in 1 tool like this
BMW Dash Scanner 3 in 1 Free Shipping
it lets you scan for codes and also can sync the EWS with the ECM... The poor car had been thru a couple of so called mechanics.. The keys they had were not rolling correctly and was causing problems, it would start 4 times and then the key would go out of limits on the roll and car wouldn't start... and this was with a brand new EWS from the dealer.. I read the old EWS and burned the data to a key and put EWS in the car, synce EWS to the ECM and tried to start car... it wouldn't start... cranked and cranked, but no start.. checked for errors.. and found none.. Put gas pedal to the floor and cranked.. The car started like a 1950s tractor... They had flooded the poor thing so bad it was crazy... After about ten minutes it started running ok again.. That poor car. As for the multi tool, when it pulls the key data, it gives you all ten keys data.. I chose number four because that is what I usually pick on an EWS car that hasn't had any extra keys made for it... On an EWS it usually only has 3 keys built in, if you want more then you build them into the bin file and rewrite that to the EWS, on the CAS it seemed to have all the 10 spots filled with data... so I just picked one and wrote the data to the key.. It worked fine...
    Take care,
    Tim
PS I made a vid about the AK90 a year or two ago.. feel free to check it out...

Is it wise to disconnect the battery first?
