Default Mercedes SLK 230 1996 will not run

The car will sort of start sometimes, run like a cracked pisspot on one, two cylinders then stop after 5 seconds or so.

Replaced coils, crank/cam position sensors, plugs and have been right through the car with DAS, nothing wrong.

The car had a gearbox overhaul and was fine and used for a while then it stood for 6 months and after that would not work correctly.

The fault has to be something that DAS cannot find so I suppose things like blocked fuel return maybe.

The plugs are wet after starting it.

Just looking for some suggestions for things to check really.

Dry out the plugs, disable fuel pump, run on propane for testing, see what happens.

If you checked live data in DAS properly, and nothing is out of place...
Checking the fuel pressure for example can't hurt.

I reckon it is hte cam followers that have gone flat with being stood and hte valves are not opening enough. Not had chance to try it yet though. It will probably need new ones.
