    Default F1 in turmoil

F1 is in turmoil as the FIA have announced they plan to sue FOTA (formula one teams association ), to me that w@nker Max Moseley is going to be the death of that sport and imho teams should be allowed to spend as much or little as they please

The FIA is to launch legal proceedings against the Formula One Teams' Association after the latter announced plans for a breakaway series.
After talks to reach a compromise on the FIA's planned budget cap for 2010 came to nought, FOTA's eight member teams - Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW Sauber, Toyota, Brawn GP, Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso - announced late on Thursday night their intention to pursue a rival series.
In response, following meetings between FIA president Max Mosley and F1 commerical rights controller Bernie Ecclestone at Silverstone - venue for this weekend's British Grand Prix - on Friday, world motorsport's governing body has decided legal action is its only recourse.
Confirming its intentions, a statement read: "The FIA's lawyers have now examined the FOTA threat to begin a breakaway series.
"The actions of FOTA as a whole, and Ferrari in particular, amount to serious violations of law including wilful interference with contractual relations, direct breaches of Ferrari's legal obligations and a grave violation of competition law. The FIA will be issuing legal proceedings without delay.
"Preparations for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship continue but publication of the final 2010 entry list will be put on hold while the FIA asserts its legal rights."

Will be real interesting to see how this turns out. F1 will survive. After all that poison dwarf did say that since they started its had over 73 teams. 2 signed up already, 9 put in to join but they were only going to except 3. Well perhaps they will let the another 5 in out of that 9 and they are good to go..thats if any of the current teams do a u turn( who are braking away)

Whats going to be really interesting is how the other one is going to be/run ie budget/engine/aerodynamics etc.restrictions.

Personally I hope the poison dwarf drowns and the manufacturers/teams that made formula 1 great in years gone by ( by no means the most recent years) make a success of it with the fastests cars and best drivers. Sad but true.

Well the CVC the venture capital group that owns F1 are to launch legal action against Max Mosley for breach of contract over his handling of the current situation, after CVC and Fota who were in the process of finalising a new commercial agreement with Ecclestone's F1 Management company (FOM) Sources are saying that CVC is very nervous about what it perceives as the risk Mosley is putting on its business. This has been reported by the BBC

It also understood that Ecclestone's involvment as the F1 Management company (FOM) is also under preasure where he might be forced out as Fota wish to deal directly for managemt right with CVC, cutting out Ecclestone all together..

    Quote from the BBC
This coming from after Ecclestone's remarks last weekend about Adolf Hitler - which have caused deep disquiet among the major multi-national companies that back F1, and are said to have infuriated CVC - The comments were badly timed as well as ill-advised. All of which has led to speculation that his position may not be secure in the medium to long term

Max Mosley who is understood to be stepping down as FIA president has said he will try run again, if he is fourced out he will still share a seat on the board of the FIA and back ex Ferrari team principal John Tood who is understood to follow the same line as Mosley, CVC & FOTA are aware of the situation and have ready to launch legal action against Max Mosley within the week ...

All of this will hopefully clear out all the old fart from F1 who seem to be bringing one the the biggest Sports to its knees, The Sport does not need Max Mosely or Brenard Ecclestone infact it does not need the FIA who have all made great sums of money from F1 and returned very little back to Teams or venues by all accounts.

I realy hope we see a break away series next year hosted by FOTA and let them put on a show that they wish us to see........

    Regards:
