All the questions should start from what car, what year, what engine is what fuel. What are the symptoms of the problem. Only then is what you know, what fault code, live data, what you have done.

genius76 ,If you feel like ....in the working mood (I don't..)switch the injectors you're not sure about 2 and 5 with,i don't know..1 and 6...
If nothing good happens, remove all the injectors, change the engine and refit injectors...
Talking about bosch injectors..there is no such thing as 'correct back leak' IMHO......

They should be coded. They are euro4 injectors with a 7 digit code. I have never tried to do it with bmw scanner.

First thing I would be checking is the swirl flaps as they always set the smooth running controller faultcode when they break.

Those bosch injectors we are talking about are mounted in many engines with different ECU's and different maps in those ECU....
the back leak test is some kind of"redneck style" check on injectors...All one can be sure(enough) is comparing one cylinder with another, and that being done while watching in live data "smooth running" in your case.
If you work long enough on one particular engine with one particular fuel system, that's another story...yo can talk about 20 ml in 3 min while idle, for example...assuming that the lat 100 cars you checked were leaking 20 ml in 3 min.....

Not sure if i made any sense so i'll stop for now ............

    Statistics.. m8...statistics...
Although is a whole new trend in auto industry...
Common failure database is another example of statistics used in fixing cars....
In other words ,there are benchmarks for testing commonrail injectors can test opening/closing time spray pattern and sooo on...
back leak test was designed mainly for non starters ,to give mechanic a tool to quickly diagnose a dead injector...

If the indain refuses to run, even with two pitbulls chasing him.......
you can do a leack back test while cranking.....

Yeah but it is not good, you crank long time, see what you get, then you do run run, you do run run the indain you often get different results.

had it before dumps lots of fuel out on cranking

The official bmw tool holds the indian at 2000rpm and measures leakback at spicyness 200bar (korma) then it raises spicyness to 1600bar (phall) and measures again.

There is also a guided function in the service function menu to measure the imbalance (correction values) of the errectors. It has all the specifications stored for each car.
