    Talking DM800 IP Address Conundrum

    Hi,

I hope someone can assist me because this is doing my nut in.

I have a Dreambox 800 HD, using Engima 2, Gemini (not sure which version) - CCCam 2.1.0/NewCS 1.65.

Whenever I do a Network Test it says that the IP Address is unconfirmed however, the IP Address is manually assigned and the DHCP is disabled. My router knows that it is an attached device and I can ping it. However, I cannot access the box through the web interface either.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Default MORE INFO

I have detected that my girlfriends laptop was causing an IP conflict with the Dreambox - I do not know why!

I have shut down the laptop and the Dreambox has now started working but keeps losing its IP Address, one minute the router can see it and another it can't.

    Any help?

have you port forwarded your router..??

In your LAN IP setup in your router config have you got:
    Use router as DHCP server
    ticked..??

in the same config as above (LAN IP setup ) you can use Address Reservation and give your Dreambox a static Ip on your LAN

I have tried at add an address reservation for the Dreambox but the device name appears as UNKNOWN and I cannot assign an address reservation to a device name as "UNKNOWN" - can I change the device name on the Dreambox anywhere?

I have assigned the Dreambox a static IP address in the router and it appears to have done the trick.

    Thanks for the help.

This is really useful. I am struggling to get my DM800 up and running and have been trawling the internet to get things up and running. Whenever i find something useful it is invariably written by Opsmonkey. Good concise clear advice - good work fella!
