if you have a serial port on your PC then get a direct connection one like this..

    Null Modem 1

If your PC only has USB then use this in conjunction with the above lead..

    Null Modem USB Adapter

OK I now have my NULL MODEM CABLE and I will try and flash my box tonight.

When I re-flash the box will I need to re-scan all the satellites I have already scanned. If so, is there a way round it, i.e by copying the satellites.xml file from the box - if so, how can I access the file when connected via NULL MODEM CABLE.

Also, I was using a version of Gemini image and I am thinking of switching to Nabilosat BlackHole instead - will CCCam work on this image?

Does anyone have any thoughts on using BlackHole instead of Gemini?

if you connect your box via ethernet cable then you will be able to backup your bouquets and xml files etc but not with a null modem cable..

Is that just a case of plugging the ethernet cable into box and into the laptop then using DCC?

Or is there something else I need to do?

I have just pinged into my box. I held the power button as it loaded.

The Web interface has come up and the titlebar says: Dreambox DM600PVR Web Interface... my box is supposed to be a DM800 is this just the web interface version on the box or does it sound like I've been fiddled?
