Mod's please move if in the wrong area this is the closest description I could find.
I am not the most computer literate and need some help.
I need a reliable way of getting the SKC ( Audi Secret Key code) or Pin codes from Immo type 1 set ups used on Audi?s 1994-1997 ish.
These are the separate white boxes which link to a coil reader and the main ecu.
I do have a genuine Ross tech Hex USB +Can, I can and have re programmed keys using correct SKCs.
The reason is that at the age these cars are, a few friends and I are experiencing failures of the immobiliser system.
Vag Tacho was recommended as the correct type of unit but I am having trouble finding the best option as I do not want to buy a genuine Vag Tacho unit due to cost and over all usage at once a month at most.
As far as I can make out there are 2 options the cheap $10-20 USB 3.01 which don?t come with any software. Or The 5.*** versions which have many add ons but still unsure of the software issues.
Q1 I believe ( Basic internet search info) that even the first generation Vag Tacho will produce the SKC as long as the immo box is powered up and does not need a matched key?
Q2 Around Vag Tacho 2.** there is some thing in the software which disables clone versions from working after the first use? For my basic needs can I get an older version and software?
Q3 Being able to produce transponder chips would be usefull but these cars all use Megamos ID13 chips which seem to be missing from the list of clonable / writable chips on most set ups. Can I use T5 chips as these seem to be the way forward?
Looking to spend at max $200 based in the UK.
And as mentioned need a lot of help!!!!!
