Default Openbox V5S No Signal Horizontal Channels

Got a openbox v5s get all channels that are on V but none on H with no signal or sometimes what appears to be the wrong channel.

Signal quality is always around 44-45% and the intensity never goes above 11% for the H channels, tried in 2 different houses with confirmed working LNBs for other skyboxs

No signal fix? or is this a faulty box?

faulty tuner then, diode fix is a vertical fix only correct?

Had this happen with my dreambox, a simple resetting of my router sorted it. Not sure if it's the same issue or not.

Yep. The "no signal fix" is for missing vertical channels only.

Sounds like the box is not switching to the higher LNB voltage to switch the LNB to Horizontal.

Is it a new box? If so, I would return it for another one.

ye it is, wierdly some of the H channels come up with a signal but display "invalid channel search again" but using aj's list so I know thats not the case.

guess it's gotta go back, hassle

the thermistor on ur box has gone. its a small component that can be changed or just wrap a thin wire round it. its a small yellow component on the circuit board. open the box and you will c it..

    tried that, made no difference

low resistance out of circuit don't think thats the problem

Looks like a new box may be the best option, you get what you pay for I suppose!
Probably better upgrading and spending a bit more cash.

Got round to measuring voltages out of the box, voltages never goes above 11.40 on both V & H and as low as 10.87 for H channels, tried a different power plug (had another 12v 2a plug) just in case it was recieving dirty power but made no difference.

Wondering if the diode fix may actually sort it or not seeing as the voltages are not what they are supposed to be.

Looks like something has blown in the box.

You should see around 13-14v for vertical, & around 18-19v for horizontal.

The diode fix won't do anything for your problem.
