    Default Peugeot 206 1.4

    hi There,
need some help from a peugeot expert

    I have a customers car peugeot 206 1.4 from 2002.
    the ECU is Sagem s2000

Car wont start , engine cranks .
Before the customer came to me he already tried several things like
    changed ignition coil blok.
    changed inlet pressure/temperature sensor
    changed crankshaft sensor.
    changed stepper motor.
    Changed fuel pump.
    Changed both oxygen sensors.

i tried changing the ECU with another and made immo off, no change at all.
If i diagnose the car with PP2000 there are no error codes at all.
Reading out the temperature sensor and oxygen sensors there seems to be no problem.
Testing the ignition coils and injectors with PP2000 everything responds normal.
    Fuel rail pressure is 3.5bar

I discovered if i start the engine using brake cleaner the car runs if i stop spraying brake cleaner the cars stops running.
Has to be a fuel issue i gues?
However if i start the car using brake cleaner and keep spraying for about 1 minute the car keeps running even if i stop spraying brake cleaner.
(Has to be something with temperature i think.)
However the throttle response is very bad at this point.
If i alow the car to idle for 10 to 15 minutes the throttle response gets better and better and the car even becomes drivable at some point.
Alowing the car to cool down comes up with the same problem and wont start anymore.

Bit of a mystery to me..

I had the same problem. Сheck the installation timing marks. Engine body has two hole that you can accept for crankshaft mark (flywheel locking). Upper hole - correct.

First test fuel pressure on injectors rail, you must have 3 bar minimum when engine cranking.Second : unplug ECT sensor and try start without them,in that case ecu give more petrol in mixture.Third : disconnect small plastic hose from engine cap to inlet ,and try. With third solution you give more air to engine inlet.

    overlooking something basic
Change plugs, get GENUINE spark plugs, seen it happen with brand new non genuine plugs

Do you actually have an injector pulse when the car does not start or is it missing??
Yesterday we stood in front of the abyss. Today we'll move ahead.

If you need any repair manual, pm me- maybe I can help you.

Hi Dear. I had the same problem before and it was the fuel pressure low. When the pressure is low there are not return, then the air in the rail will not evacuate.

1- Check for clogged injectors, (if you got an osciloscope look for thepintle hump in the pattern - if not just pull the injectors and look if they squirt while crankining)

2- check fuel pressure, quality, pulse width etc. If you have put an alternative, pressurized fuel source on the rail

    Hi all,
    thanks for helping me.
it turned out to be something very stupid and have to give yusef credits for this.
Customer already changed sparkplugs with new ones thats why i did not think of it but the new sparkplugs caused the problem.
Today i replaced them with original ones and the car runs perfect.
