    Default Eeprom flash programmer

Hello there, I would like to ask you which of the universal programmers would be best for both ECU and airbag reading. Would be glad if you could make several arguments why one is better then the other one. And if the chineese clones are worth the bother buying.
Looking forward for hearing some helpful answers!

    Hallo jonce1555
This question is very difficult because with one programmer you can not make or repair every ecus or sensors, some times must also ecu programed exactly into car.
For beginning you must read read and one more read about cars, and what you can do with types of programmers, and what systems and chips are building car ecu.
When you that know you can bay programmers exactly good for job what you can do.
For beginning you can bay ponyprog most chipper or carprog , upa-usb, x-progm, willlem prog. etc.

    Hi,

For automotive use You will be most covered with a WILLEM programmer that is very cheap.
It is good for all ECU, airbag and Tacho work. It does not do MOTOROLA MPUs that are common in automotive use.
For this You can get an other programmer like xProg or UPA that are also cheap compared to brand names that are hundreds of Euro...
An other very good tool for this purpose is CARPROG. I have the original and am very satisfied. The only thing is that it is expensive to buy and also they charge extra if You want to update even for modules You have bought at the beginning but now they have add some newer models that were not included at the time of purchase... This I find very unprofessional and not fair at all...
On the other hand the China version of this tool is very cheap but also very unreliable and I would never buy it for professional work.

    Best Regards

Any advise on Galletto 2 tri core v54 clone reliability please. Can you use the bdm boards with the spring pins or the crocodile clip readers that clip straight onto the chips for those of us that are not great at soldering!

i have tl866 without in circuit module but it is cheap fast and realible . can do most of eeproms.if you are just started buy it. but after some time you will buy upa etc programmers. you cant find hardware that is covering 100% of market. but i you are looking for hardawer for standart eeproms minipro is really best for that price. comparing for labtool i will never buy this expensive crap

I don't like tl866 because sop44 adapter set is too expensive!!! For other stuff is OK.

While i have not yet moved towards ECU or airbag programming, my x-prog seems to cover just about everything except for NEC micro's, cheap as chips, when you get it, make sure it works then give it a full solder refresh and it should not let you down,
