Yes, it is red mmi behind glove compartment with navi, amplifier and tuner inside. Yes it is 24c64 and navi is siemens vdo

Yes I done my research and i know about this,but what Pipina does its something else...as i can see he modifies the original eeprom dumps and kinda disables component protection.
Removing component protection is not as easy.CAn gateway eeprom need to be modified as well in a normal case.
Correct me if im wrong.

Thanks A4rek. I have tried this method but I can't seem to read anything off the eeprom chip from the dead MMI unit.
I first tried reading the eeprom using VAG CAN Pro but it wasn't able to connect to the unit. So I removed the eeprom from the dead unit and bought the CH431A programmer with an adapter to fit the size of eeprom chip, but can't seem to get it to work. The programmer is supposed to be able to detect the chip model, size, etc.. but mine doesn't. The chip in the documentation you linked states the chip model is an Atmel AT24C64A. The chip I'm working with is labeled completely different:
ATP718
64DD B
A96J7E

Any help would be very much appreciated.

for the moment only avdi or odis en ligne can do it . try to repair it en ligne affter that read the eprom again and see the adress 0x0640 and 0x0770 (what is the modification in this adress)

Hi, 3G totaly different than 2G. It is possible to align 3G also by dump but much more complicated and diferent sw versions have different adress. About make it off I try but was unable to make it - for now
