there is a lot on internet about this but no solution given.
its wiring problem SMART BOX communication line to ECU.
And not easy to find this immo box if you do it first time, you have take steering column down and its above the plate that steering column is fit it to,smal black box, impossible to see with steering column fit it.

no parts change, wire that go to ecu can go 2 ways depends on set up,or its going through fuse box under steering wheel or its going through front right pillar driver side.
,and this is the place to look at.

    Hi,
i have hyundai i30 2011 with immo problem.
in ecu get 1690 code - no response from smartra.

    Changed smartra but same error

Smartra have + 12V and GRD
    immo coil lines are ok.

I only have one strange thing - on smartra communication line in shortened to GRD.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advanced
    Mat
