    Default RNS510 HW:H04 SW:1000

    Hello,

I have one RNS510 with touch not working. I can start device on bench, it show logo, show radio and than ask for code. I can't enter code becouse touchscreen don't work.

    1T0 035 680 A
    HW: H04
    SW: 1000
    date: 11.2007

If i press SETUP+Eject+Info/mic button, it restart and ask for SWL-CD, but if i put it on power supply and press power button radio normaly start and ask for code.

Anyone with same problem or solution? I didn't try to upload any firmware, SWL or anything, but i don't know what they did with radio before it came into my hand.

Wich firmware is 100% OK for this HW/SW version to update?

    Thank you,
    Alex_G

I did SWL update and i got error:

    i try
    FW 1200
    FW 5328 mod by Josi
    both with same erro result.

    "SOFTWARE LOADING ERROR (010301)"
    SWL ERROR
Error - EcuOrder.txt - Error reading HW Vers

I was able to put unit back to touch not working mode with SWL FIX DVD based on 272x. While SWL update touch command "OK" Cancel" work normaly, so touchscreen is 100% OK. Problem is somewhere else.

Does anyone have any idea what else i can try?

    Regards,

When turned on, the logo appears and disappears after 30-40 seconds. At the same time, by pressing Setup +Eject+MIC, the instrument can be entered in the update mode. The device starts to flash any firmware, but only one SWL bar appears in the update window, and then the disk is ejected with an error Error - EcuOrder.txt - Error reading HW Vers This means that the HW ID of the device has been dropped. In this case, you can try to downgrade to 1100 or 2680. If the error does not disappear, it is also damaged by the boot loader and it will not be possible to restore the device itself.

Sometimes the flat cables don't make contact as it should.
After putting back the original file and only back and ok buttons active, try to connect the navi on car and input the code. Also, you may check the flat cable from the display to the pcb. You can mount it by inverse it. Is a flat cable with symilar ends, so it can be put with any of two ends in their sockets

Post edit. Also, the cd lens must be ckeaned with an ear cotton bud and isopropylic alcohol, or with a Lens cleaning CD, in order to solve the reading error.
If the problem still stands, you can change tbe hdd, or just format it and put it back and reload swl...
