New unit is launched next month, old unit is no longer being sold, all references to AL being OE tool are gone from there website, new handset will have no programming abilities that require connection to dealer servers (that will change in the future) but things will change anyway for all aftermarket tools, if you have the old handset it will still support flashing for now but it WILL stop in the future (they refuse to give a date), be prepared for an industry shakeup :-), I also doubt any tuning via obd will be possible on any car built next year and onwards......

Direct from Autologic's "all are welcome meeting" that they posted only 1 week before it was happening (and even posted in a section nobody was ever likely to see it), no surprise that only around 20 turned up and all had to agree to confidentiality before being allowed in, as I said I expect to see big changes in this industry next year, AutoLogic have signalled the first shot, who could be next?..... hmmmm I wonder maybe Volvo launching Vida2 in June/July?

    OFF TOPIC & RANT MODE:-

Just been to "Little Poland" about 50 miles away, going down the motor way at 70 MPH 2014 model car cuts me up, no trafficators, then all the way there and way back people right up ones arse at 70 MPH Diffcult to overtake slow lorrys due to excess speed of other drivers, so that is a 'good' thing if it forces folks to the stealers make them slow down a bit to save fuel to pay the stealers bill.

    On TOpic:-

was that info posted on an INFERIOR auto logic site or back of pub toilet door?

Autologic has most functions covered upto around 2013 for the brands it covers, but for vag, bmw, merc and porsche it has been slipping behind fast, and with changes coming in this industry under it's current form I dont think it would be viable for them to continue, hence the new direction and new handset, also prices (depending on usage) for vag,bmw and merc genuine systems is cheap enough, all 3 could be setup for less than Autologic charge for 1 years support for those brands, if like many you are forced to buy the genuine tool and you also owned Autologic, how keen would you be to renew your subs each year when you use it less and less?

With regards to the Mokka the simple answer is GDS2 with MDI or Drewtech GM Mongoose (genuine ofcourse), the mongoose while cheap I can't see working on cars from next year, but if you dont see cars that new just yet it's maybe a better option (once you see GDS2 you will soon see why so many aftermarket tools are limited on covering these new models)

Drakov mate, you have been saying for a while about these changes, are you in a position to tip some ex-lax in the coffee of the people who have thought if this.

all that's going to happen is make the price go up for the end user.

independants will close, dealer prices will rocket

yes i would think if autologic puts tool on market that is not cheap and prescription for year is high as fu...it has to be dealer level,i would expect that from them.
so i think its not easy for them now to introduce new tool at high cost. that is not fit to do dealer level diag. in all brands
    who would buy it.

It was once mate, the worrying thing is why the complete turnaround? I am sure I know why and as a business model there is no way Autologic could exist in the future... this is just the start of many I am pretty sure of that

    ?

    OFF TOPIC:-

If you buy a washing machine, freezer, dishwasher, central heating boiler, even oven, there going the same way, computerised.

Just going to be more and more cars getting warning lights stuffed up which stops dealers making money which deafears the object

It will be hard for those who don't charge enough that's for sure, low prices don't buy new tools they buy cheap clones, but they won't be working on next years cars with there clones, so a good opportunity to earn on jobs nobody else can do for a while...... I still laugh when people say the monthly wage in our country is 500$ yet in the same sentence say genuine tools cost too much and want a cheap tool so they can earn money on 30k+ new cars .

yep you right, gangsters that charge very little for electronic work they will get hit most, they have no $$$$$$$$ to spend on new tools and even if they buy new tool they wont be fit to update it in future.
good example is AVDI i got one when there was a deal 10k but i try to buy all updates to keep it up to date and its not cheap, but i charge for my work so dont mind pay for updates.
