As per the thread title, I just wondered if it's possible to edit a channel list and add an iptv/streaming link as a channel entry?
Are these boxes capable of playing back streams like this? eg. MP4?

Thanks for taking the time out to respond. I have the Skybox F5. Would this support it - and how would I go about adding the url to the channel listings?
The F5 isn't capable of streaming via URL's.
You will need a box with webtv facilities, such as the V8 or V6. You cannot mix satellite channels & streaming channels in the channel list. To access the streaming channels you will need to watch them via the webtv menu.

has anybody managed to get webtv working yet or managed to edit it ,mines just blank when you click on a link , openbox V8s
Yep. Got it working on my V6 box.
Delete the list that comes with the box & search for an m3u list on the internet. Some sites let you download as an m3u file, with others you need to copy & paste into notepad & save as webtv.m3u.
Theres a file in the downloads section that may help:-

I noticed though that not all streams play with sound. It looks like there's a codec problem that prevents sound from playing on certain streams.
I have it working on my v8s and im going to be making a massive list of channels once i visit all my old haunts to find the stream urls

Hi romxuk, any progress with your webtv list mate? It bugs me that the IPTV facility is there but I can't find anything watchable!!! Cheers
I would be open to testing a decent WebTV m 3 u file if anyone has one? pleeeeease
the one I'm using keeps rebooting the box :-(
Sorry to drag up an old thread, I have loads of m3u files from a well known site but the m3u files contain .ts links which some may be aware only play for around 30 seconds, To play a .ts in VLC the loop button needs to be selected or in Kodi playlist Loader F4MTESTER is required and an F4MTESTER string pasted infront of the .ts link, Is there anything that can be done to make the .ts link to continue to play on WebTV on an V8S ? Thanks.
Did this ever work for you?
What needs included in the file and how do you upload to openbox v8s?
very interested in finding out what will stop box having to be rebooted all the time with IPTV. any assistance will be appreciated.
