The subscription for hextag is for cloning ECU's and reading isn but you can read isn with autohex,obd or bench,no problems.
You have to pay the subscription just for autohex.

Did F10 5 Series spare key today....
Autohex asked for CAS4 dump and SK code (assume ISN).

Thought CAS4 could now be done via OBD ??
This would be really useful for Mini -

I'm not upset Autohex couldn't do job as already read CAS4 dump - and used VVDI

as far as i know the mini never came out with cas4 only cas3

F10 - I had to read with programmer. Done a few but last one i wiped!!
reading ISN isn't a bad idea to do a key cos maybe more prepared if something does go wrong

Anyway ordered new CAS4 Module came next day and Autohex coded in seconds with INDIV. Finished with Abrites by sync CAS<>ECU, CAS<>ESL.

Job done just some £380 outta pocket

Fantastic tool - did a 2018 mini yesterday AKL.
Read ECU didn't have to remove from car and upgraded FEm/BCM on bench. didn't pick up a soldering iron, lovely

tech support is 1st class

You're saying that autohex does not have the function of sync CAS<>ECU, CAS<>ESL ????
I would expect not to need a second tool for doing that... unles there is another reason why you used abrites?
I mean you buy the tool for bmw that can solve bmw problems......

I guess because of corona....everything is slow now.
Looking forward to see how it worked out. Me and one of my friends are interested in buy the full tool.

Think the sync part is buried in replacement CAS section intended for 2nd-hand programming.
Support recommended installing dealer software but I didn't have time.

Is there Key programming features missing off Autohex ?
Yes - but it seems VERY good on what it does so far.
Was hoping for CAS2 OBD key programming (* assume missing to confirm)
and CAS3+ key programming thro OBD to make life easy for Mini programming.
Also maybe even CAS4 key programming thro OBD like VVDI.

In fact VVDI does CAS2 OBD key programming well - AVDI just burns a key.

Do you need more than just Autohex base Locksmith package ? Yes - seems FEM needed updating (which AVDI failed on!!) so guess so

I'm happy dude - If something F**ks up i can fix + Autohex Support is 1ST CLASS

I recommend Autohex along with that new VVDI BMW package and reigngold software clone setup on same laptop.
