All doors closed and ignition off. In about 3 sec:

1)press and hold central locking button
2)press start stop button and release
3)release central locking
4)bring the key to the emergency coil.
In about 15 sec you will see message: "updating service data please wait" ....just wait.

If is not working redo it till success.

As far as I know the key for A1/Q3 is programmed simultaneously (with remote part).

I did few A1 with vvdi

Yes mate. As long as you learn them to the car (not adding to the immo) you will be fine
