However, it didn't change anything, nothing works except the back lights. Any ideas?

    Good luck.

I did reflow all of the resistors(is that what they really are? I'm not privy on electrical components) But I did not do the little red coils, I will give that a shot. Thank you guys, you're awesome!

I thought about selling it to offset some of the cost of buying the things to change the mileage in my IPC now.

sounds like a good idea! Try performing those repairs just remember that if it doesn't work after that, then you might as well consider it not rebuildable unless you have a speedo shop close by that can recheck it for you. But then again, that may in most cases be an extra charge.

Should I just use a GQ4X for the mileage?

Well, I did get a gq4x and I used tachosoft to tell me what data to change and when I try to enter 191,256 miles into the eeprom according to what tachosoft says, the cluster displays 118,860. I've figured out a lot by reading and trial and error with this but I don't know what to do now

1D 2E is around 191245 miles. Look closer at the TS calculation window, you should be able to figure it out.

    I'll bet you used 12 22.

191256 Kilometers = 118840.969 Miles. Try 307796 and u will get 191256 miles Tacho is giving u results in KM.

Yes, I did use 1222, I saw that it was in kilometers but I thought that it didn't matter because it was just a number, haha, guess that's what I get for assuming.

If you want to do hours, look under Chevrolet Tahoe in tachosoft

Work hours are stored in next lines:0050: xx xx xx xx 0C 5D xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx

Hummer H2 in TS will calculate the hours properly for all 2003-2006 GMT800 trucks.

Unless it's over a certain number of hrs, then there is another location to correct.

It worked! You've both been a tremendous help through this, I appreciate it a lot. Once I figure out this programming deal I'm not sure what I'll move onto next haha

So, I repaired the cluster I had that way blacked out, it was the little red coils needing reflowed! I was running it in my truck just as kind of a test to make sure it wasn't going to have any issues. Now, it seems like it's draining my battery, I googled it and it seems to be a rather common problem. How many issues can these things possibly have! This is nuts

Also, is there a way to donate to the site? I appreciate all of the help i've gotten, I would like to contribute
