No risk, if it doesnt read correct miles/km then obviously dont try to write it
If after write screen is dead, remove negative terminal from battery for 2 minutes and that resets the clocks

All right thanks. I will try next time my friend come with the car. I will let you know.
Anyone see the information of obdstar Odo Master, which is better than X300M, and supposed to be cheaper than dp plus.

odo master coming ... X300m a brick

looks like they've decided to split the mileage and immo functions into separate tablets, same tablets but different functions.
odo master for mileage and x300 pro 4 for immo/key programming.
wonder if you can purchase the other option as an add-on, e.g you buy the mileage tablet and then can pay extra for the immo/key programing features ?
It would 99.9% be cheaper to buy the x300 dp plus Which has the mileage and immo functions, same with lonsdor with the K518ISE AND K518, adding on would not really make sense for the end consumer, makes sense for the manufacturer more $$$
The rate obdstar are going by releasing new products and killing the older models, not long before everyone realises they playing games with everyone, and everyone moves to a "consistent" product that does not keep changing names but has frequent updates

X300M cannot do VW Beetle 2000, it should be a golf/bora/beetle RB4, if VDO DP3 best, if Motometer C66 then SMOK Kline connection
Also for reference 2002 Audi A3 cannot be done with tools like X300M, it is MM dash and needs to be stripped to do by JTAG

my beetle dash is MM5

hello
share you a method to solve the problem-it fails to communicate or program when using OBDSTAR hand-held devices
(such as OBDSTAR X300M, X100 pro, H105, H series tools, F-series tools, etc.)
You can save the Log data and send to OBDSTAR engineer or distributor to figure out thereason.
The step-by-step-guide:
Step 1: Connect OBDSTAR device and start it
Press “OPTION”-> Press “Data Logging”-> Press “ON” -> Press ESC-> Back to the main menu
obdstar-hand-held-device-save-data-1.jpgobdstar-hand-held-device-save-data-2.jpgobdstar-hand-held-device-save-data-3.jpg
Step 2: Keep the OBDSTAR hand-held device at “ON” state
Go to test the car
When it fails to do the program, power off the machine
Step 3: Take out the TF card where there is a LOG file
Step 4: Send the LOG file to your distributor or OBDSTAR engineer
They can study the data and figure out the reason
Please kindly notice:
Every time when you power off the OBDSTAR auto key programmer, Data Logging would be “OFF”.
So if you want to save the data next time, please repeat the procedures above.
good luck!

not the same with the X300DP
when the activity was failed, the tablet make a log file, and when you exit the menu or turn off the tablet, the logfile file converted as a crash file
then the crash file cannot be understand by obdstar personnel
so when the the tool failed, do not exit the menu or turn off the tablet, just open the esexplorer soft and copy the logfile and paste to sdcard and send it to obdstar support
