Ok first off. It has been widely documented that like quite a few e2 boxes not all usb sticks work with no apparent reason. Good quality SanDisk or Kingston (not bought from eBay) usually work preferably the smaller capacity 8gb or less. When flashing a box you need to change nothing on the usb just plug it in the back and press the power button on the front of the receiver when usb is displayed to flash it.
Secondly you bought the box from eBay and there's no telling what has been added to the receiver before sale. What image was on it when it arrived ????? Should have been openAtv 5.0 which leads me to third point that download servers are no longer supported in openAtv 5.0 (again an image issue not hardware). Fourth point is these boxes do not update themselves they take user interaction unless you write a script and set up a cronjob (still user interaction) to automate it. Point five is go to openAtv website and download 5.1 image for airdigital zgemma h1 then the downloads section will work. Point six is the blue skin you mentioned is not available in any download section so speak nicely and martin035 might enlighten you as to where to get the .ipk
Point seven is I can't comment on mother board as I've never had the need or inclination to open a zgemma as they don't take an internal hdd but I can say there is a sticker over the seam that says warranty void if broken/removed. Point eight is you have made no mention of any previous experience with e2 boxes so we have no idea what terminology to use when replying so you understand what to do. Point nine is these are the bottom of the e2 range so don't be expecting bells and whistles. Finally point ten brings me back to menu and learning curve. These are not official sly receivers so are not designed for masses of technophobes who are happy to pay 90 quid a month for a few tv station on permanent repeat.
If you put the work in and ask the relevant questions you will get there in the end and can then move onwards and upwards to better spec receivers once you have a good grasp of required skillset needed to setup and maintain an E2 receiver.

Ps. I hate having to make huge long posts so best advice is to start a thread of your own with specific problems and you'll get much more help than you will from a thread that is for information about a specific backup image.

As I said before it ain't a clone but a cheaply made sat box, if it was a clone box like a cloud Ibox then the only images available would be patched ones as the zgemma series is actively supported by Openatav and others you're quite safe.

notice the two USB ports on said box where trying to read/flash but nothing was happening which was a pain
I later find out from Linux Support website that one has to change this tiny wee small folder in the programme
one is trying to Flash from one's usb stick one has to Rename it from "No Force" to "Force" to get said box to
eventually respond to it being flashed/fixed/updated
This I will agree with you on, the Zgemma boxes can be very fussy with some brands of USB stick drive but there is numerous workarounds on here and DK to over come this and get the box to flash quite easily.

    for the EPG x,x,
Wrong, the person who make the picons has to update the files in the repo, once this is done then when you update the zgemma your new picon will be available, if however the person is away then could be a delay with the release of the updated file. If your using the picons on my backup image these won't update automatically, new picons have to be added to zgemma manually.

Because I don't see said update in the Downloads Section
As someone who reads the DK forum you should know that the Slyk 1 HD skin by kiddac isn't available from Openatv repo's and has to be updated manually, the Racing HD channel is under test therefore won't show up or be put into a bouquet by ABM so needs doing manually.

No-force to Force to get said Box to Respond is it really worth all this Hassle
This doesn't mean it's a clone, it means there's a bug in the Openatv software and as the software is updated nightly, bugs get iron out and new ones introduced. I've flashed quite a few boxes over the past year and have never had to change the no-force to force, all it means is the USB drive isn't liked by the zgemma a very easy problem to sort out.

"Uploads Via Box Issues" then that would be really handy to know because as mentioned my said Clone
Box does not Upload by itself as it's suppose to do, this is why I'm not a happy bunny with this box which
is definitive enough it's not confusing its as simple as pie as regards to the experience I've personally
had with this box (DVB) Zgemma Star H1 (Clone) DVB
The Zgemma software doesn't update automatically, it has to be updated manually via the Software management options. Only the following on my backup image automatically overnight, the ABM will scan for channel changes and the EPG will update it's data.

If you use an EPG plugin like Crossepg or XMLimporter you wouldn't have this problem and if you used a plugin called Autobouquetsmaker for your channels you again wouldn't have this problem either as the channels are placed in there appropriate folders ie sports, movies and entertainment.

Well that's your opinion, a couple of thousand posters on TK and DK will disagree with you.

MY opinion of your rant is quite simple, you've opened your new zgemma h1 box and plugged it in and expected it to be a plug and play box like a an openbox or a krypoview box. The majority of your problems is down to USER error or a lack of research or both.

Is that right Martin 035 well there are also a lot of people out there who for one minute would not put up with all the mentioned hassle to get a DVB up & working properly after shelling out money this box should come with warning this box is a not plug & play but untold amount of hours of research to get it to work as one would expect & require it to do so. Do you see any of said warnings by sellers on fleebay of course not why because they are not going to get many sales now are they? No. I've also checked out some of those suggestion like check out OpenATV Wow It's You-Tube in other words people who have posted do this & do that on You-Tube
Did I see any mention about one needs FileZilla which by the way is loaded with Virus's even from the FileZilla website yeah so that's great news one also has to clear out ones PC of Trogen Horses as well as trying to get said box to work properly of course not that would not exactly help all these sellers sales figures now would it? No.
Yeah my Rant is a Constructive Rant where all readers can draw their own Conclusion which will add up to wide-berth Box's simple as & oh yeah some You-Tube Uploads contain oh I did this on my mobile so apologies if the picture quality is naff & you do this click-click-click no mention of FileZilla more click-clicks done 120 seconds see ya yeah great help that is

What has this got to do with this thread, my backup image works perfect for all Zgemma users, it's not my fault you can follow simple guides, please take up your problems with Ebay.

There's a reason why I don't mention Filezilla in my guide and this reason is the Forum Rules, as my guide is for a free to air system setup, what people do with their boxes after is up to them. If you have a problem with this then PM Digicon or another MOD

No, your rants ain't helpful and are not constructive, as I've stated before there are thousands of Zgemma users on this forum and DK who use other peoples backup images without problems or if they do have problems just post a new thread asking for help and they then get the answers their looking for and become Happy Zgemma users as well. You've hijacked this thread spouting rubbish, a very rude and selfish thing to do.

    One last thing this Backup image has been provided to work on a H1 and H2 whether cloned on not by toe471 and ginoworm in the below statements;
    http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...=1#post2656889
    http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...=1#post2640664

All you have to do set it up for cable, which as I don't have cable is beyond my knowledge, ie install my image and then post a new thread asking how to setup the cable side.

As to your boot flashing problems if you had done your research you would have realised there's other ways to install an image and flash said image without booting the box via USB.

Please read the posts correctly or one will end up in lots of arguments. I said speak nicely and maybe martin035 will tell you where to get the .ipk for the skin. I DIDN'T say speak nicely TO Martin035. What I didn't realise is that text had a tone and I also don't attempt to portray myself to be a better class of person by referring to myself as one instead of 'I'.
As has been previously mentioned the common denominator with the problems you are having is you. Thousands of people manage to get these receivers to work perfectly.

Note to mods please don't lock this very helpful thread down due to one soapbox preacher.

    Hi Martin 035
Thanks for the info & update re:-slyk HD V3.008 I managed to eventually flash it onto my cloned zgemma star h1 dvb
via software manager flash locally so said firmware on said box is better than what it was before however when I try
to do you know what the ******which is on said patch does not have a********** within it which is a pain in
    the you know
where region also when I try to update said ********** it's downloaded but when I try to install
it, it's coming back with a message saying there is not enough space ah-ah in-fact when I uploaded/flashed your patch
onto said receiver it did warn me that said space was limited to what I can additionally add on so obviously the built
in hd chip on the circuit board is very small is there any way I can format it so that I can get your patch back onto it
along with an updated ***********within it I don't care if it will not be a combo receiver dvb because
I mainly use my dish any help/advice/info with this matter would be much appreciated hope to hear from you again
soon all the best & God bless sincerely BJTT :-) :-)

    Hi BJTT

I'm happy that you got the Slyk HD skin version 3.008 to work and have a better user experience but unfortunately due to the forum rules I won't be able to help any more, I'm sure google will provide answers to your problems.

Hello folks. On the whole my zgemma2s is going well and my brother in law couldnt get over how good this image is. A couple of little ques please... When first trying to use the series link option as a test I set it to record Eastenders, I honestly do not watch this poo but now I cant figure out how to cancel the weekly recordings of said poo. Any ideas how I can stop this embarrassing situation???
The other question is at approx 9pm on a sunday evening anything I try to watch on a non FTA channel is really glitchy (every 10-15 secs), is this particular day/time relevant for some reason???
    Thanks for any help.

Question 1. Menu>Timers>autotimers you may need to keep pressing blue till you can press red to close as you haven't used it before then select said poo and delete.
Question 2. The answer to this cannot be discussed on the forum
