I've seen this message only when key loses sync in the middle of data acquisition. This happens on the older cars though.

Hi there

I have W204 with Sim271ke20 ECU.
Need to replace ECU with another used one. I connect it on bench to VVDI BGA. It shows connect and READING then it comes to 82% and says READING POSITION 9 failed.
Sometimes reads 10% and failed.
How to renew and adapt this ecu?

I connect the cables direct from OBD cable to CAN H+ and CAN L and power. I have tried putting 120Ohm resistor between can lines but same result.

Any solution to this?

This happened to me recently on a W204. I restarted the data acquisition and worked fine next time.

hi, I had tried several times and no luck so I had to let go the car, another surprise, the original key stopped working. So left the key in the EIS, it started working again, the original key. I couldn't make a key for this guy

Hi, It depends what fw was your key, sometimes FW51 or 57 need time to rearrange things inside it self (key could be busy for a longer time, I think I have experienced about 20min key to recover) but if key is BGA FW62 FW75 … these keys are much faster and key can go in busy state but shortly, so this should not happen to these keys...
But key isn't silent yet it sends busy state...

As I said - car and key lost sync. Then regained sync after sitting in the EZS for a while as ficho explained. Did you check what was inside the EZS? Maybe it had an old motorola ST12 which you could read with VVDIprog? Or if the key was 51/57 rom you could also extract pass from it. Did you check all those things before letting your client go to another locksmith?

How to get Passwort from w230 SL if It don’t work by ir? If i read Eis I can choose w220/w230 etc. but if I want to calculate password there is no w230. If i choose all keys lost there is a w230 to choose.

can I only get the pw by calculate with all keys lost?
