Default Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI 2009 electric fuel pump not working

    Hello DK,

I am working on a 2009 Ford Focus TDCI which does not start. No fuel is coming to the fuel filter because electric fuel pump is not working.

Please share workshop manual or wiring diagram for the electric fuel pump control.

    Thanks in advance....

Esitronic states that electric pump is located on the subframe on the left. I will check this tomorrow.

All the questions should start from what car, what year, what engine is what fuel. What are the symptoms of the problem. Only then is what you know, what fault code, live data, what you have done.

This is the first time I work on this car, and you are correct meathead. This car has no electric pump. Suction pump is probably integrated with the high pressure pump. Pump is Siemens.

these cars ont start if the suction pump is not first primed with a hand primer, even if you tow the car for 10 miles, the pump has to bu full of diesel befor it starts sucking, and when you remove the pipes from the filter all the diesel in the pipe runs back to the tank, if you do this and still have a problem pm me the chassie number and ill email you what ever wiring diaghrams you need

anthony610 is right, high pressure pump does all work and if it gets air locked it is a nightmare to bleed , prime pump or suction pump is the only solution.

    Default Thanks a lot

Thanks to you all who guided me. I used a priming pump and Focus is now running. All I have to do now is put back the low pressure lines to check for air ingress.

    Thanks again......

    Hello DK,

I have succeeded in getting the engine to run. However, I see some air bubbles on the transparent tube between the fuel filter and CR pump. I suspect that something is missing on the inlet fitting to the fuel filter, or the orings on the fitting are not properly put together.

Can someone share an exploded view of the inlet and discharge plastic fittings on the fuel filter?

    Many thanks in advance.
