Default Mr. Li ( Original Lishi) HU162 tool for VAG group, first ever again !

    Hi Guys,

Again Mr. Li , the inventor of Lishi tools, shows us his latest tool for HU162 which has 4 side cuts and 6 inner cuts, these locks are commonly seen on VAG vehicles equipped with proximity access like TT, Passat from 2015. On the top of this tool is the VAG2015 (9) ( 3+6) which is released during IKS2015. Enjoy !

and hopefully VW have now got better things to be worried about rather than making any more changes to the locks for a while

one has 9 cuts and one has 10 cuts , 9 cut has 3 side cuts , 10 cut has 4 side cuts , and reverse key sections of each other , the conventional cuts have 5 key heights on 10 cut the side cuts use just 4 heights on 10 cut side cuts are opposite cut to conventional cut , 9 cut has 4 key heights on conventional cuts and 4 key heights on side cuts and again side cut is opposite height to conventional cut by reverse section i mean a bit like hu66 and hu92 as an example and hu100 and hu100r, so as different key sections they are different tools . 10 cut used on prox key models 9 cut on non prox models , then theres also the 8 cut with no side cuts used on some models too .

    But NOT proxi key.

So how is it possible to use the key in all side if not same cuting on both side??

    Very strange...

The ignition uses all the cuts on the main track and doesn't use the side cuts so key will work both ways.

only if you cut the side profile correctly , you dont need the side cuts for ignition but you still need the side profile

Not that stupid really , its taken a long time from release of this lock before any cut to code machines could cut them , a long while before locksmiths started figuring how to read them , so kept the key trade limited to the dealership for a good length of time , so rather than stupid id say it was a success for vag and the lock and series developer , from VAGS point of view it would have been stupid to spend money on a new lock system that everyone could do with ease , the success for them will be gauged on how long they kept key business in house and away from us.

the upside to more complex lock and key systems is it keeps rates where they should be and locks out the low ballers and price cutters for a while , if it was too easy then these would be bargain basement keys like so many others , its good to have to work at a job and have skills to complete it , keeps things interesting.
