Default Openbox V8s freezing after 15 seconds when switching on. Help required.

Hi all I have an open box v8s, which seems to freeze 15/30 seconds after switching on.
I have already previously returned one box to the supplier due to the same reason and now it has happened to the new box too (after 3 weeks of use).
    This is what happens:
with all cables connected (HDMI, Sat feed, Power and ethernet) the box will freeze after 15/30 seconds. It won't allow me to access any functions through the remote control.
I have to then turn off the box by unplugging the power cable and disconnect the ethernet cable, switch back on and all functions work. This will only allow fta channels to be viewed.
I have read the constantCW file may be corrupt and can be fixed using the lan tool. The only thing is that i have never used that before and was wondering if anyone knows where i can download the LAN TOOL. Also if some one has fixed this problem and is kind enough to help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks

The LAN tol is in the downloads section. Although it says F4/F3/M3 it should work with all models:-

Does your box still lock up if you boot it up with the LNB cable removed? If it doesn't, then, as you say, it sounds like it could be the LAN tool problem.

    Have you read this thread:-

Read from post #65 for the solution.

Thats great thanks. My sat feed seems fine and works on fta when the ethernet is disconnected. The moment i connect the box to the router ethernet or wirelessly it freezes.
I have previously returned a box back to the dealer but takes up to a week to exchange . I believe it is fixable at home so will continue to try until i run out of patience.
If i get it to work i will post the outcome here.
    Thanks again

Remove the satellite feed and put the box into standby.

Create new blank txt file for the .cfg .cw and .list and replace the ones in the Lan folder. Use the Lan tool to re flash the image, when rebooted put back into standby and transfer the new txt files you created earlier. Put the sat feed back in the box.

If you flashed with the latest software you should be able to load a channel file over the net using the update link in Network. Always have the box in standby when using the Lan tool to transfer files.

Thanks for the info. I got it working again by switching off the box and internet for about 30 minutes. Very strange!
