    Default NEED HELP: GOLF MK IV KEY PROGRAMMING

    Please I am new to key programming and need direction and advice. I have a golf mk iv with only one key and therefore needed to have an extra, however the car doesn't communicate through obd II therefore I can't add key through obd.
    eeprom is 24c02 motormeter dash
    ecu is siemens 5wp...
    transponder is id48
    I have these few tools;
    xtool x100 pro
    xprog
    effi
    zed bull clone
    please what do I do to get an extra key?

    you can add a key through OBD with cheap vag commander on that car if that was your question...

    check wireing from obd plug to dash, you have to fix that. Then read the dash eeprom and post here, someone will give your pin. And then key adding is easy, almost any diag toll can add it

    there are 2 eep in motometer dash.
    1 for pin and 1 for keys.
    its possible to add key to eeprom or generate key form eeprom without updating the eep memory.
    not sure if ZED can do it as i dont have one.

    If obd plug is not powred then must check fuses
    After read login code and learn key with vcds vag com
    It is very easy to do

    when you say the OBD is not working.....your tool will power on, or not?

    tool can power on but will not communicate.

    just because one tool does not get coms does not mean the port is not working.

    i think none of your tools support this car. invest in something that can do VW key programming. no need to eeprom this car, just get the right tool. Easy job.

    sbb or remove instrument cluster --read 24c02==pin

    or use vag eepromer 1.19

    check the radio-if its aftermarket and wired wrong it can affect obd comms

    its motometer in which case the pin reading may take up to 4 hr.
    dont forget about that. some toys are reading it but it takes time and they dont display any progresses bar.

    If obd is powered and u not communicate with any modules maybe u have probs with K-line or can if have...
