Hi there,

I am new to the matter of vehicle software. Not unexperienced in terms of electronics and
programming in general though.

I got a Audi A4 B5 in really good shape and would like to learn it a vew new tricks.
Like putting in a remote control for the central locking i. e. (exchange original pump).

But in order to get this to work, I need to teach the new keys into the immobilizer. And
that requires me to know the Login code.

Infos about the car:

VAG#: 8D0 920 900 P
Extra: WAUZZZ8DZ1Axxxxxx AUZ5Z0Y6124300


I read many old therads in german forums but only got more confused as to how to do this.
Having only an KKL - Interface here from eGay, I wonder if there is any software which could dump
the eeprom? And how to extract the Login from such a dump? I am unsure because in a lot of
old post I read that clone solutions messed up the clusters firmware. How likely is that?

Which options do I have? What software, which interfce? I found a thread about CarProg.
Would that be an option? And if so, which (clone) hardware does it require?

Ok, thanks fo the hardware tips. I'll consider them and buy something later.

For my actual problem with the immmobilizer and key lteaching:
how can I read a dump from my old car, in order to find the login?
Is there any cheap tool to that without messing up my firmware?

I will dig into car electronics, but my problem at hand is to add the remote control.
