    Default audi a3 airbag problem?

    hi all,

    i have a problem for audi a3 airbag

    i read fault code with vag com and

    fault code is 01218 - Side Airbag igniter: Passenger Side(N200)

    i cleared but give same fault

    how can i solve this problem
    can anybody help me ?

    01218 - Side Airbag Igniter; Front Passenger Side (N200): Resistance too High

    Possible Symptoms


    • Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) active

    Possible Causes


    • Wiring/Connectors from/to Side Airbag Igniter, Front Passenger Side (N200) faulty
    • Side Airbag Igniter, Front Passenger Side (N200) faulty

    Possible Solutions


    • Check Wiring/Connectors from/to Side Airbag Igniter, Front Passenger Side (N200)
    • Check Side Airbag Igniter, Front Passenger Side (N200) faulty
      • Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB)

    It's a very common problem with early VAG cars where the airbag connection wire runs directly across the bottom of the seat so when people keep sitting in the chair it stretches/breaks/loosens the wire.

    If making sure the connection is good at both ends and you've used electrical connection cleaner or something on the plugs and it still brings up the fault then replace the wiring loom and this should fix the problem.

    PS: If you decide to use a volt meter never do it with the wire plugged into the airbag as any sort of electrical discharge can fire the airbag..
