    Default Mazda 2 Remote Programming

Trying to programme remote for Mazda 2, 2008 , 3 button remote

    Manual programming procedure

    key out door open
Ignition On and Off, X3 , leaving key in off position
    Door Close and Open ,X3
When the door is opened the third time the locks are supposed to cycle Lock and Unlock and you know you are in programming mode.
But at this point they lock but not unlock hence not in programming mode

What am doing wrong ? or What could be wrong in the car ?

    Thanks

    It's a two part programming.
    REMOTE CONTROL REGISTRATION

NOTE : All transmitters will need to be obtained from the customer as all transmitters (new or existing) are programmed at one time. If a transmitter is not programmed during this procedure, it will become inoperative.

NOTE : On 2006 model year MX-5 Miata and Mazda5, two types of keyless entry systems have been introduced, each having a different procedure for registering transmitters. To identity which type applies, perform the following steps:

    1. Remove key from steering lock and CLOSE all doors and boot or trunk.
    2. OPEN driver side door.
    3. INSERT key into steering lock.
    4. Repeat the following three times:
    5. SWITCH ignition switch to ON position, then back to LOCK position.
    6. CLOSE and CLOSE driver side door three times (then leave the door open)
    7. CLOSE the driver side door.
    8. Do the lock actuators perform the LOCK UNLOCK cycle TWICE.

    NO : TYPE A system.
    YES : TYPE B system.

    TYPE A PROCEDURE

    1. REMOVE key from ignition.
    2. CLOSE all doors and boot/trunk.
    3. OPEN drivers door.
    4. INSERT key into ignition, then switch ignition ON and back to LOCK 3 times.
    5. Leave key in ignition.
    6. CLOSE and OPEN drivers door 3 times and then leave door OPEN.
    7. The door locks should LOCK and UNLOCK to confirm programming mode.
    8. PRESS the UNLOCK button on the first remote transmitter 2 times.
    9. The door locks should cycle LOCK to UNLOCK to confirm programming.
    10. Repeat step 8 and 9 for any additional remote transmitters.
    11. Check all remote transmitters for operation.

    TYPE B PROCEDURE

    8. PRESS ANY button on the first remote transmitter 2 times.
    9. The door locks should cycle LOCK to UNLOCK to confirm programming.
    10. Repeat step 8 and 9 for any additional remote transmitters.
    11. Check all remote transmitters for operation.

NOTE : Always program three remote transmitters as the programming mode terminates after 3 remote transmitters are programmed. The same programmed transmitter can be programmed two or three times to allow the three memory slots to be programmed.

NOTE : A maximum of three remote transmitters can be programmed.

NOTE : When programming the remote, verify that other transmitters are not being operated in the vicinity.

NOTE : If a button other than the transmitter UNLOCK button is operated, the programming operation is disabled and the programming mode is cancelled.

    Thanks Godfathertre

Using the same procedure but this model does not have central locking switch near hand brake , just lock/unlock button with the door opening latch which you cant move to lock position with the door open. So cant do step 2 below

    2. Lock and unlock doors using the only door switch on the Mazda 2's (Located in the middle console, near the hand brake lever). Make sure the doors are in the unlock position.

Going through the procedure i can hear the doors Lock but Not Unlocking , hence not in prog mode

Thanks, any possible faults to look in car

Sound like a door lock solenoid stuck /frozen /broken.....if you don't get lock/unlock after clicking your heels 3 times(program as above) = no programming mode
when you press button on remote ...lock/unlock=remote programmed

If a problem with one of the doors = lock but no unlock = remote will not be accepted in the system

    which remote ??

    Hope this helps
