hi just got a box usb set up and working but getting a msg " this is an invalib box " is this normal ? thanx
it appears every time i switch channel a small blue dialogue box ?
Hi again I just tried recording a channel and once it started recording the "Warning this is an invalid box was on screen all the time while recording but was not visable during playback ( well strange ) so cant get a pic but the the msg looks like starview msg not a vm msg ? well puzzled
thanx in advance
Where you been hidin' GMB, there have been many posts on this issue.
It may well be a PROV. tactic but it only affects STVU4 up to now. If user
ever unplugs unit or has power failure he will never have to worry about
"invalid box" logo again. His bootloader will pack in & never start-up again.
Presuming box is under warranty , contact supplier about issue & query
whether latest fix (v1.12) will sort problem. If not request replacement.
If not under warranty Flash with v1.12 fix & hope for the best. You could ask
seniour counsel (Satsmo) for his views, if you're unhappy with this.
You could also hook-up a synchronised generator to your electricity supply but you'll have to connect it up live as turning off power will wipe out box.
If supplier agrees to replace unit you could consider a EUVOX 5100.
Worth the extra money as it's much more stable box. Just my opinion
Same happened to me. I switched the power OFF and ON using the SW at the rear of the box. the unit never powered up again. I since sent it back to the supplier where it is being looked at. They promised to repair it or replace with a new one.![]()
thanx all nice 1
I just started getting this warning 20 minutes ago. "Warning: This Is An Invalid Box!!!" would pop up on screen whenever I changed channels, so like a dumbass, I reset the unit before checking these forums and now I have a new brick to play with![]()
It's been running perfectly fine for 2 months and I haven't changed anything, so I'm confused as to why it would just pop up out of the blue.
After doing some research I can confirm that it is definitely a genuine box, so at least I know I haven't been scammed by the retailer (cablebox4u.co.uk). Luckily for me, the box is still under warranty, so I've sent them an email detailing the problem and hopefully they will sort me out.
