Default W204 ESL fault...can they be fixed ?

    Hi guys

recently i had a W204 set sent to me
    2 x gen 3 keys
    1 x ESL
    1 x EZS

so i connected it up and found the NEC needed taking off and renew
    i did this OK
so put nec back on and tested switches
    (im following the PDF here)
    all ok
so i rebuilt as instructed and write factory again but this time the ESL did not goto the lock position !!
no noise from the ESL at all, no clicks, no motor trying to turn etc etc

speaking with ST on skype i was advised a few things but to no avail

so im thinking the ESL is broken in some way from the customers side !!

has anyone had this problem and fixed it ?
i put the new simon touch motor in too
if you have fixed the ESL and want to share how you did this then it would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

    dave

    EDIT
i have good comms with the nec over k line i get all the info out of the unit
so i believe K line is working ok and the ESL to a certain extent
its just when i try write virgin image after rebuilding the motor does not turn and the ESL does not lock
i get error locking in my simon touch tools

im thinking may be a voltage reg or may be a relay is broke inside the ESL

my soldering is 200% been soldering a long time

my power supply i bought especially when i bought the ST tools
regulated 12v 10Amps so i know this is spot on
it worked perfectly on a few previous jobs

i have 2 x ESL here with similar probs

the other does try to spin the motor but cant seem to turn it !

You can test the switches with PCB taken off from the board. Also take care when you unsolder NEC be ware you can take off smal smd elements near the NEC .

Try to change relay,if the old engine had worn brushes, could destroy the relay contacts

Did you check if problem is not the NEC and tried it in a fully working ESL? Out of the many NECs I renewed and adapted, I have one that is somehow damaged, has good communication, read switches fine, but only activates the relays IF battery is higher than ~12.1V.
Working on something to release next month for free for all dk users :>

    Dave,

So did the Esl have blocked status (AA)

And you've got NEC keys with it?

yes mate the nec was fluffed
    i followed the PDF
it took 14hours to rectify the NEC
but got there in the end
now when i check switches it says esl repairable just change motor

but i think the relays are fluffed
as when i try to write the factory image to the esl when its built back up it does the TP ok and but locking at the end it errors out on me, i get no sounds or clicks from the esl
new motor in also bought from ST
    not a sausage
hopefully it is the relays not switching, as no clicking noises from teh esl

    fingers xssed eh

or do you have some input here mark ? its greatly appreciated
