He may point out that even though the home secretary says they're unsafe and he can't use them..... that he has kept them for use against Londoners, just in case they don't see his point of view

Boris Johnson says he will keep his new anti-riot water cannon - despite not getting approval to use them from Theresa May.
The Mayor claimed he could “readily” get permission from a future Home Secretary to deploy the high-powered machines in an emergency.
Labour branded the three cannon, bought second-hand from Germany for ?218,000 last June, as a white elephant. Government sources have made clear that they will not be approved for use in crowd control in the foreseeable future.
Defending the purchase, Mr Johnson insisted: “The police requested them, they have bought them at a very good price, they have them, they train on them, there is a vanishingly remote possibility they might actually need them or use them. In that event I have no doubt at all that any Home Secretary would readily issue a licence.”

    http://www.standard.co.uk/news/mayor...-10148413.html

.................... that he has kept them for use against Londoners, just in case they don't see his point of view and a future home secretary changes their mind. It's likely that if the poor of the city don't move out as part of the Tory social cleansing initiative that he may use them.

"Mr Johnson claimed the licence was “a bit of an irrelevance”"

    Just like him then.

Yes but firemen tend to draw the line when it comes to seriously injuring people. Boris doesn't appear to worry about minor things like people. So you have to ask again whether he worries that people might lose their jobs as a result of leaving the EU as well, or whether his major concern is making sure that Tory supporters can make more money from it.

While busy running off track I took the comments from https://leave.eu/en/faqs section 5.

    One of the FAQS
    16. Would taxes change?

They could, and probably should. Under EU law, the UK is not permitted to apply a standard VAT rate below 15%, and a reduced VAT rate below 5%. These limits could be repealed once the UK secured independence.
With the UK treasury liberated of a ?12bn bill each year, the government may seek to lower some taxes.
Most importantly, our directly elected government will have increased decision-making powers on what and whom it taxes, and to what extent.

The UK standard VAT rate is 20% (set by the current government) - so if the government wanted to drop it to 15% it could already, but it hasn't, so why woudl leaving teh EU make the government do that again?

on freedom of movement for working

    13. What will happen to British citizens working in the EU, and EU citizens working in the UK?

The EU would be obliged to grant permanent settlement rights to Britons living in Ireland and mainland Europe. The UK would do the same.

So the number of EU citizens working in Britain would not be going down, and those EU citizens here would continue to stay. Those unemployed, the ones who really don't want to ever get a job, who scream "the foreigners are taking all our jobs" would still do the same.

    *shrug*

    It's gone

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a6944371.html

But it was a Tory party that added the tax when they joined the EU. The wording of anything that has been said around it is being very careful as to why VAT was placed on them in the beginning.

The government has played down the impact on the UK steel industry of new Chinese import tariffs of up to 46.3%.
China is to impose the levy on imports of some specialist, high-tech steel from the EU, South Korea, and Japan.
It comes after Tata Steel announced it was selling its loss-making UK plants, putting thousands of jobs at risk.
The duties were "unwelcome", but "not expected to have much impact", the government said - but Tata said it was worried about the wider market effect.
The company - and UK government - has previously cited cheap steel imports from China as one of the reasons the industry is under pressure.

The US has imposed tariffs of 266% on Chinese steel but Britain blocked efforts at EU level to impose similarly high emergency tariffs.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35951108

So Dave trying to finish what Maggie started and close the steel industry down totally, blaming the EU for the inability of the government to help out the steel industry in the UK when in reality the UK government stopped the tariff eh?? Lies, more lies, and politicians.

Nigel Farage has accused David Cameron of winning elections by "pretending to be a Eurosceptic".
The UKIP leader said the PM was in fact a "Eurofanatic" who had been "deceiving the British people for years".

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politic...endum-36372375

So where's the effing news in that? Every MP has been deceiving the British public for years. Must be a slow news week ahead. Anyway, pot->kettle->black or Nigel->Dave->NigelLovesDave

    On another note

"Two Britons living abroad have lost their Supreme Court battle over the right to vote in June's EU referendum.
The UK's highest court upheld the decisions of both the High Court and Court of Appeal.
UK citizens are not eligible to vote on 23 June if they have lived outside the UK for more than 15 years."

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36370522

Wtf should anyone who doesn't live in the UK, and did a runner, have the right to vote as to what the UK does and affect the lives of UK citizens while they continue to not be affected. tw@'s - I hope they're paying the costs.

    Meanwhile back in reality

"Bank of England governor Mark Carney has robustly defended his stance on the UK's EU referendum debate and accused one of his prominent critics of trying to "undermine" the Bank's remit.
The comments came in testy exchanges during Mr Carney's evidence to the Treasury select committee.
Mr Carney was answering questions from Jacob Rees-Mogg, who favours Brexit.
He said the Bank had a responsibility to the British people "who don't want risks kept from them".

Vote Leave campaigners strongly criticised Mr Carney, with Mr Rees-Mogg calling for him to resign.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-36367843

Why has this caused such sh*t? he's giving his opinion. What you mean it was ok for MP's to opine last year that Scotland couldn't use the pound if it escaped and yet the boot can't be on the other foot? Tow faced tw@'s

Going to court to stop he police investigating seems to be a sure sign that something is wrong. Shame that if the police do find something that the Tory party won't get un-elected as a result. That will give them another 4 years to change the law in their favour.
