i couldnt get it to work with internet on aswell... allways seems to kill the software then have to re unpack everytime ...but if anyone figures it out let us know.

5.5.5 runs fine releasesd on mmh originally. Your not setting you fuse bytes right??? and it only likes to run on xp (virtual machine helps).

Does anyone know if i can downgrade my xprog m 5.6 clone to 5.5.1? and use it without a dongle? Any information would be greatful

m8 if u can get the files for atmega and eeprom , u can flash it to that version so up or down do not matter aslong as u have the files and software that goes with it u should be fine , i went from 5.3 with dongle to 5.5.1 and up to 5.5.5 and down to 5.5.1 and again up to 5.5.5

Try different usb cable and make sure the COM port in xprog software Oprions > Environment is the one you see xprog is using in windows device manager when you plug it in, if you don't see it in device manager then you have a drivers problem, try reinstalling them. Also write in english, no todos hablan español aca.

Hello and tested don different usb cables and still giving the same error and tested in xp (32bist), win7 (32bist), win7 (64bits) and does not work.
It is xprog 5.6 with dongle.
I can flash it to some other vercion. I have the programmer upa to be able to flash.
In the case of flash to which vercion they recommend me.
I will be very grateful for your help !!

Your error seems to be the software has no communication with the device. Did you make sure the COM port set in xprog software is the same assigned to the device when you plug it in? If nothing else works, yea I'd say try reflashing it, sorry I can't recommend a specific version, mine works well out of the box without reflashing so far.

Hi Wokcz if the communication, ports and drivers are correct.
My question is whether flash can be done to any vercion and if the software has to be with dongle obligatorily or is indifferent (I consult this since my computer is with dongle).
Another question is how to charge the authorizations, or are loaded automatically with the flash and / or software.
I am very grateful for your help.

Another question I have is that I must do first. If you upload the eeprom file and flash or modify Lock bits and Fuse Bits.
I check this out because when loading eeprom and then modifying lock bits the content of eeprom is modified.

I do not think it's a software problem because three of our colleagues have the same problem with xprog 5.6 with dongle

If you flash it, you wont need to use the dongle anymore I think. Sorry I can't comment much on the flashing procedure, I never did it so far, I have 5.4 with dongle and haven't tried upgrading it yet.
