Mine-Lab
Here is what to do go to Main Menu via Remote then under the top one on the List entitled
Installation in other words directly below it/second one down scroll down with down arrow
Click Okay on Remote & then enter four zeroes (0000) with Remote to enter into said Sub
Menu that will open/appear then scroll down to “Delete All Channels” & press Okay on
Remote & it will delete all channels then exit said Options sub-menu & then scroll up one
Into Installation sub-menu (0000) then scroll down to “Factory Default” then enter Okay
This will take you into another Window to do a new channels scan make sure Summer Time
Is off until next weekend where one can change time settings via Options sub-menu anyway
Carry out a full new scan anyway & for example if your search comes back with only a 1-8
List like my box does I’m in the Glasgow Area it should eventually come back with scanning
A 1 – 55 List after a couple of Okay’s anyway don’t panic I’ll explain how to get around that
Scenario in due course anyway just let your box go through its full scan what we are looking
For here is the TP list which I will cover shortly once your box has done a full scan press
Remote Exit to come out of said window if it came back with an only 1 – 8 channel list scan
Go back into your box’s Main Menu scroll to “Options” directly below “Installation” then
Enter four zeros to go into said sub-menu then open Language to check second Language
Is set on Tulips & Clogs Land I know this may seam pointless but there is a reason for doing
This it has to bring up a set procedure anyway exit button out of Language settings back to
Options sub-menu & in said “Options” sub-menu you will see/notice an option stating
Edit/TP List scroll down to this option enter into its Window & in said window you will notice
A list of Providers for example mines is N*L select your provider & a list of TP & QAM
Will appear in a 1 – 8 List here is what to do enter one line @ a time for the TP change them
All over to 6.952 & for the QAM change them all over to 256 settings one line @ a time for
Example 1) Leave Frequency Setting with right arrow on remote move too TP setting &
Enter 6952 then right arrow on your remote too QAM highlight & then up & down arrow to
256 then press ‘Okay’ on your Remote to save changes once done you will notice said first
Line will read Found Frequency – TP 6.952 – QAM:-256 do this set procedure with all the
Eight lines then small Back button to come out of said window & while you are in said Options
Sub-menu “Delete All Channels” do not worry it will not delete the changes in Edit/TP List
It will stay the same after all channels have been deleted exit out said options menu then
Go back into the “Installation” sub menu & select the top selection “Automatic Scan” you
Do not have to do a Factory Default here because we already have the Frequency List
Yes, so give Factory Default a body swerve @ this juncture because it’s not required so let
Your Box goes through a complete full scan again by following the instruction when to select
Okay when required you will see the words like “Already exists” as it goes through its scan
However when it comes to the final window for scanning you will notice it changes to a
1 – 55 channels search list instead of 1 – 8 & it will come back with a full scan instead of
A partial find & after said full scan is complete it should come back with around 550 TV
Channels & 37 Radio Stations so the main remote buttons you will be using in this procedure
Is 1) Main Menu 2) Okay too Enter & Save Changes 3) Small Back Button to go back the way
4) Exit to come out of sub-menus & scans 5) Right Arrow Button (Next to the Okay Button)
6) The Up & Down Buttons also next to the Okay Button no doubt you will let us all know
How you get on laters Folks BJTT

Hi, thankyou for your reply, i,m in lincoln ... I,ve followed all your instructions ... I have a question please .. When you mentioned changing the TP to 6.952 and the QAM to 256 .... Heres my query :/ on the SAT / TP . EDIT page ... There is NTL - Ex-C&W - CHORUS and Telewest ... I,m sure mines NTL ( I think ) so i,ve selected NTL ... I,ve scrolled across and there are 8 lines of numbers as you advised . There are - TP - SR -and QAM ... You said to change the TP to 6.952 and the QAM to 256 ... I,ve noticed that if i change the TP it comes up as 69.52 instead of 6.952 as you advised, tho if i change the SR to 6.952 it cones up as 6.952 ... I can change the Qam to 256 as advised ... Can you advise me please if its the TP or the SR i need to change to 6.952 as I can only change the SR to 6.952 as the TP comes up as 69.52 ...thankyou ...( i still cannot receive any channels as its still only scanning from 1 to 8 ..please help ..thankyou kindly ..
Its not Ntl.... u need to select Ex-c@w........ then green button for scan from there u need to chose network id of ur area....
minelab (23rd March, 2016)
Hi, are you sure its Ex-c&w. ?
sure, mine is Ex-c&w.....
U need to put the right area code.....
Are you in lincoln tho and are you with virginmedia
I am with vrg cab... but not from Lincoln...
Hi, can i ask how you know lincoln is Ex c&w ? Thankyou
you have nothin to lose trying it, what is the big deal?
maybe an odd user might have a providers box and got the details off it?
Try x C&W as suggested when scanning if its coming back with nothing via N*L
As mentioned above in the Options Menu TP/Edit choice when it comes back with
a 1-8 instead of 1-55 for example in said TP/Edit window change the TP to 6.952
manually using the remote & with the up & down arrows on the remote change
the QAM to 256 so it's a case of on each line leave the Frequency numbers as
they appear move to the TP remote right arrow type 6.952 then remote right
arrow again to move onto the QAM then use the remote up & down arrow to
change the QAM from 64 to 256 then press the remote Ok button to save
the changes which are made to each individual Line one @ a time for example
Line 1) Frequency (Leave Alone) next TP change from 6.887 to 6.952 move to
QAM change from 64 to 256 (up & down arrow on remote) then press the remote
Ok button to save changes to that line then repeat the process until all the 1-8
Lines read Frequency (The Same) TP 6.952 & QAM 256 instead of reading TP
6.887 & QAM 64 after all changes have been made use the remote back button
to come out of TP/Edit then in Options window scroll down to Delete All Channels
then select with remote then press Ok after all channels are deleted come out
of the Options Menu & scroll up one to Installation Menu type four zeros (0000)
with remote & in said Installation Menu Select "Automatic Scan" if N*L does
not work change Auto Scan to Ex C&W if that does not work same problem then
go back into Auto Scan & change it to Telewest in Telewest you will have to
change the Area Provider to the one that's close to where your crib/home is
located by scrolling down through the list the remote (up & down arrows) once
you find the nearest location to where you live select with the remote Ok
button then proceed to channel scan if your provider is ex-telewest you don't
have to go into the TP/Edit option because it will come back with more than
A 1-8 channels list in-fact it will come back with even more than a 1-55
channels list what I would advise you @ this juncture is to download the Kv A780
Original Software & flash your box with it why? Because it will give you a true
reading of what the TP & QAM should be set @ on each individual line which can
be viewed via the TP/Edit when scans are carried out & which should read it
gives one a true guide line the 1-8 option mainly appears on the kv A780 for
boxes that comes under the N*L Areas it does not appear via Telewest searches
I'm not sure about Ex C&W because I've never tried it the Area I live comes
under N*L anway let's us all know how you get on cheers everyone BJTT :-) :-)
