This was with the BDM board attached which i always have to use with this particular chip.

Next i tried to do the same with a different 9S12 MCU which doesn't require the BDM adaptor & exactly the same error so it is the XProg itself that is at fault.

Anyone have any ideas why this should suddenly happen (yes i know its cheap Chinese copy but it was working fine last time). Are there any changes i can make or is it destined for the rubbish bin ?

    Thanks in advance.

You probably already know this, but just in case - Make sure you are NEVER connected to the internet with one of these clones. It will dial out and try to update, or possibly just intentionally corrupt the install.

While I'm here though, would you mind saying where you got your clone and how much you paid? I'm looking for another one as the one I got was total shit. Ta

For me it works better in windows 7 Ultimate. In XP I've got a bunch of errors verify writing etc.. just a pain in the ass in XP
