    Default USB to RS232 problems

    i have tried everything in the forum topics to get my box to flash but sadly to no avail any bright sparks out there know any thing else i can try

    from the info you give its not a bright spark you want its mystic Meg
    a few details of what you have done and what error messages or whats happening would help.

    Very funny....made me smile in my hours and hours of head bashing and leaning towards dropping my box from a very high building.....to see if that cures problem!

    try setting your usb to 232 on to com port 1,
    but it all depends on what???? you are trying to flash as different boxes use differnt cables also

    what box are you trying to flash
    are you uk are irl
    are you using a pc or laptop

    flashing starview 1 and 2 in uk from a laptop with no rs232 out, got a usb to rs232 and tried loads of drivers, followed info from satsmo ref a previous thread and still cant get my laptop to recognise box just says send fail,

    laptops can be a pain at times for flashing can't you use a friends pc

    there is a chinese based driver that seems to work where others have failed so if you havn't already tried it give it a go
