    eh?

does you computer/laptop have a COM port? dreamup uses a null modem lead connected to the 9-pin D-shaped COM port on your laptop/PC.

you CAN get USB > Serial Adapters like this USB to RS232 DB9 Serial Adapter Cable - M/M - StarTech.com (thats what i have as my laptop doesn't have a COM port) - have u got something like this or a genuine COM port ? (not always found on newer PC's)

i had this problem with a dm500 many years back and what i used was a old pc with windows 98 and a real com port worked a treat every time.dont forget to remove the power from your dm then start dreamup then power back up your dm

Just where exactly have you plugged the USB lead into, on the dreambox??

I've used dreamup, I could not get it to work on the network port despite it being an option, so I stuck to a null modem lead (using windows XP) and it worked no bother..

For information, when you do plug the cable in, the screen does show that something is happening (dream box and dream up talking to one another)
