I usually get that message when I selected the wrong program or the car isn't compatible.

The calculation is wrong. Try a different calculator. Or try doing it with a different machine. When it displays more numbers than what it's supposed to I do t even mess with I try to find the program that will do it correctly

Best to remove cluster and read the micro mask then proceed. If u select the wrong option you will damage the dash

Hello friends. I was playing around and plugged in my DSP3 via OBD on a USA version 2001 VW Beetle TDI. Smelecom has only OBD options listed for it on my DSP3. Anyways, I clicked "Read KM" and an incorrect value came up. I backed out of the menu, because I wasn't even programming this car, BUT the odometer displayed the read value (3447). I hadn't programmed it, yet the odom value changed?! Very strange. It starts and all instrument cluster functions are fine. I drove it a few miles, the trip and odometer cycle fine. Has anyone run into this before? I don't do too many VAG vehicles, but I know I've done a few Audi's with my DSP3, plug and play, no problem. I appreciate any info, thanks.

I think it's the last 5 digits of your serial number. something like that either last 4 5 or 6 I don't remember exactly. you should be able to write it with anything with no issue try to bring up the keyboard by hitting the lower right corner where it says large in display I think that's what it say see if that works. post a pic of your device
