Reads well with Data Smart 3+ via OBD2 ,but does not write. Message :
No communication, choose another model. I tried all the models but no luck. Has
anyone already have this problem?

Depends on your cluster bud, just pull it and do the eeprom directly.

Done with a JProg. It's a good tool but too expensive and customer service is sucks.

when smelecom send dsp with password, what is the initial password to enter the tool. smelecom is closed now so i cannot ask

Likely the last 4 digits of your serial number or something generic, like "0000" or "1234".

Hi friends, not to hijack this thread, but I am curious what other users are using to compliment their Smelecom units. My DSP3 is aging and though it is my "go-to" programmer, I do feel that one day it will sh%t the bed. I do mobile service, so plug and play units, like the DSP3, are appealing. Just wanting to know what your experienced opinions are. If this post is off topic, Mods, please remove. Thanks.

i wouldnt buy it again expensive and many of those obd options they claim do not work! and you will end up having to read eeprom, and if thats the case many tools do that for a fraction of the price

It depends on what car you talk about, once they where great on vag cars.
Like Audi A3/TT from 2007 or the golf 7 or A6 2013 this where difficult cars at the time and smelecom was leading at that time.
