using of cracked software in launch x431 is not good i think it is better to change serial number of smart box see the image it cost near about 200usd & it gives online update with your serial number of x431 from welcomt to X431 website it means legal software for perfect diagnostics. in cracked software sometimes MIL lamp of car is on but x431 cracked software tells no fault code
so think it is good or not

There is another way to get updates with changing SN, some Chinese sellers provide updates for limited number of SN. But these updates again as cracked software in form of a copy from CF card. You will not have all that flexibility to use ANY version of available software on official website. Those who use X431 professionally know that often most recent software for it not always better for some models. There are situation when older versions work better for some models.

Is it possible to do a backup of the OS before experimenting with the machine? I haven't opened mine, yet. Is the OS stored on an internal CF card like the Genisys?

The OS is stored in internal processor and flashes, there is no way to backup it.

i have buy some new 1Gb CF card,yesterday i have try this cracked software with 128Mb CF card and it's work with some car model i delete to fit it.but why my 1Gb CF card cannot detected by my x431 scanner.please help....

i think that the cf card you bought has a very high speed data transfer .Launch machines struggle to read high speed compact flash cards ,the ones that currently seem to work are sandisk ultra 2 cards @15mb/second speed.good luck !

hi guys , install the two files today 24/12/09 , delete a few cars, can upgrade , demo, and super 16 update to fit on a 128mb Kodak cf, all is working well .
