    Default Vw ODIS and Ford ?

    hi this have me wondering
    in the licence text file :

    #Brand Ford
    2.16.820.1.113700.18 = F
    2.16.820.1.113700.18.1 = 219
    2.16.820.1.113700.18.2 = 00000
    2.16.820.1.113700.18.3 = H

    this means that odis can support FORD brand ?
    in the postsetup there is no brand " F "

    next question
    is it possable to get the postsetup files for ford on odis ?
    this is just a question , because it would be nice to have ford diagnostics an vag running on same software and just have 1 tool to do it

    To his first question it would be, to his 2nd question the answer is no... even with the brand disc only vw based systems would be diagnosable

    If his first question is the postsetup files, then I didn't understand it. I was refering to his second question

    The ODX Data could be implemented in vaspc/vas5163 supplied by vag, he could use Monaco to access the data and diagnose ford vehicles. This would apply to all manufacturers but there data is encrypted, the first hurdle is to decrypt it and since odis uses softing dts also the same would apply. This is just one hurdle out of many that's why I said the long answer is yes

    The odx data will only cover 1 maybe 2 brands for ford and no need to import or use other software for that as it will work with odis, but only on vw based ford systems so the answer is no it wont replace the need for a ford platform which was what he was asking

    It will cover all the brands that are located at c:\program files\Ford Motor Company\IDS\XMLFiles

    I believe it is more that 1 or 2 brands

    What is possible and what the user has asked is 2 different things, he wanted to know about odis and ford and the simple to that was and still is no, but your right the long answer but using different software and knowledge and time would be yes

    The time spent on it would be worth it, cause it would mean that since mazda & jlr use IDS also you would not have to go through the whole process again it would be the same for all 3
    There would be no issue around being able to run all 3 on one laptop, cause you would not need too, all you would need is there data

    Just out of curiosity, what solution(s) have they come up with for licensing ford IDS?

    patched files?
    3 day license reset?
    someone has actually worked out the algo and are providing license keys?

    More than a year later and still not much joy with Ford stuff.
    Just some VM's going but no keys have been made so far.
    Whatever seems impossible is just not yet important enough.
