    Default putting new firmware on eurovox 7000hd

    Can someone give me a simple guide how to put new firmware onto the ex7000hd? what format do i need the usb stick to be in or cant i use usb stick to put firmware on? send me a link to the guide if possible please.

    u need 2 download this file and put it on a usb an stick it in. then go to the menu, the last column on the right then transfer the tbn file to the box. this'll take about 10 mins. and i bet u got it from mycable box too! (mine only arrived 2day!)

    download the firmware 12/3/09 rename it flash . tbn put it onto your memory pen then into the back of your box switch off/on with the switch at the back of the box it will reboot find the flash and install it

    I've just been at a mates and we found it a prob updating from a USB
    we had to down load the file, extract from the zip, copy onto USB then rename it to flash.tbn.
    we then popped it into the switched off box, switched it on and only then would it upload on to the box

    carnt you download the software throw the rs323 cable on this box or not cheers all and thanks for a great site lee

    yep just the case of changing the file name, thanks guys. Any ideas how i rename the favourites and edit channels?

    It is important when changing the file name to flash.tbn IT HAS NO GAPS.
    Also delete any other firmware off the pen before putting it into the box.

    When you have installed the latest firmware correctly.
    Press the menu button and you will see
    EUROVOX EX7000 HD+ on the bottom right hand side.
    The older fimware didn't have this.

    Thanks to everyone that helped on this thread. I had some problems trying to use the Null modem serial cables but with the USB stick is so much easier.
