Default This Entire Country Has Just Banned Smoking

There are smoking bans? and then there?s Turkmenistan.

The central Asian country has effectively banned smoking after a new decree banned the sale of all tobacco products.

Anybody selling cigarettes now faces a fine of ?1,200.

The ban has pushed up the cost of black market cigarettes to ?8 a packet.

Announcing the ban, the government also showed thousands of cigarettes being incinerated on state-run TV.

It comes into force as Turkmenistan is ruled by an authoritarian health-conscious former dentist as president, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedow.

Believe me or not the ban already been place in 2020.

UK originally started this ban in the first place, since 1 July 2007 smoking had been banned in all enclosed public places in England including pubs, bars and restaurants, as a consequence of the Health Act 2006.

A smoking ban in England, making it illegal to smoke in all enclosed work places in England, came into force on 1 July 2007 as a consequence of the Health Act 2006.

The laws have also introduced a limit on the amount and strength of liquid allowed in e-cigarettes and herbal products.

The rules, being enforced under the Tobacco and Regulated Products Regulations 2016, are aimed at slashing the number of nicotine addicts by 2.4 million.
Currently there are 10 million smokers in the UK and a further 2.6 million are puffing on e-cigarettes, according to Action on Smoking and Health.

Smaller packs of 10 cigarettes and small bags of rolling tobacco will disappear, while Menthol and flavoured tobacco will become completely illegal by May 20, 2020.

The Latest Tobacco Laws Show, the Nanny State Has Gone Too Far.

The day the government bans smoking in the UK is the day that tax rates get hiked, as Elmer has already written, too much money involved in it for the government in tax revenue and for the companies and their shareholders in profits.

Smoking is here to stay until it's no longer profitable. Though I do think that the government will start looking to make a profit on ecig liquids, if they aren't already. For nicotine addicts it's a way to avoid the additives that tobacco companies put in there (you know the ones that make smoking addictive and kill you) but there is no gain for the government in people taking up ecigs. BAT however will continue to make a profit from the nicotine sales and they also own Vype, and have managed to get one of their ecigs approved by the NHS. early days, but expect the government to start looking to tax ecig liquids and up the price every budget....
My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.
    No good deed goes unpunished....
