Hi six pack, I did see a couple of posts on here one guy said he found it on a russian site and that he "moved a file to his root directory" but didnt say how he did it- or what file it was he had actually moved.
Another said create a text file in c: I tried that and no different.
I will look again tomorrow in case there are other posts I have missed.
    Thanks for your reply.

Open notepad, don't write anything, click file, save as, call it "version.txt" without quotes

Save it in your root directory C:

    That should be it

    Hi m8

Just replace this with the one you have on your cdrom of LEXIA3 V44 and works 100%....
You maybe need to copy all contents you have on your v44 to a new folder and replace it with this one AND start the installation from the folder...

    test it...works 100%...

If my post has been at all helpfull
please press the little red THANKS tab

This is the actual step by step I used to get past the proxia recovery disc request.
My computer/ CD ROM DRIVE/LEXIA DISC/ LEXIA/EXE/. Inside exe I found a little text file called "version" I copied this and pasted it into c: drive !!

Its some sort of security red herring to confuse people like me and it worked
Pete thanks for reply I tried creating a blank txt file and naming it version last night and it didnt work.
In copying the text file from the actual lexia 3 disc you are copying a txt file that has got some information in it that the programme needs to see before it installs.

Maximus lead me in the right direction.

I know its been posted about before, but when I came to install lexia on my pc - this is the way I carried out the operation and it worked.
thanks for your help guys great forum lots of clued up guys on here thankfully

I found I didn't need to copy (or create) the version text file anywhere, just the whole installation package to my C drive in it's entirety which of course, puts the version text file on my C drive but nested in it's original folder.

I didnt want to put the whole programme into my c: drive in case of any problems causing conflicts with other programmes in the ops system plus I didnt want to clog up my c: drive with such a big programme.

Obviously by putting the whole lot into your c: drive the txt file landed automatically in its rightfull place. thanks for the reply though as anyone else having same problem can read these posts and decide which way they want to install Lexia on their own computer.
Knowledge is power as they say !!! cheers and thanks again for all your inputs guys

I understand what you're saying but first off I make a SYSTEM RESTORE POINT in case of corruption. Then...
You can just delete it all once it's been installed. And as you also get to chose where it's installed, all my C drive space has now been reclaimed.
