Hi guys. maybe OT queastion but I need answer.
I need to buy programmer for motorola chips. which is better ? x prog or upa. I will buy from china for testing, later maybe original. or please send me a link for china programmers.

I have 1 immmobox from seat inca 1996 and 1 vw beta 5 radio. for tests.

    I found some xprog but

    Newest Version XPROG-M Programmer V5.0 with 18 Adapters/Boards - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

Attention: this programmer is not good for Motorola chips. If you want do Motorola chips, please choose Motorola 908 programmer,705 programmer and 912 programmer.

sorry for my english, I'm using a translator.
I've got a serious problem, I tried many ways and can not resolve.
    I have a XPROG-M 5.0 with all releases.
It worked perfectly until without knowing the risk I was running, I installed XPROG-box 5.4 on my computer when I was doing a reading and it asked me to update, register, and also update the certificate, the first two went well, less the certificate.
I gave up and returned to the XPROG-M but since then it did not work anymore, whenever I try to read, he asks to update, by the way but never updates. I tried with the 4.2 4.5 5.0 and 5.1, in no fails.

the version it is now is 1.7 build 14400 date 2012.05.01 status 5A373

Can someone help me solve this problem?

Hi Sergei first of all tel us wot programmer you use to program atmega?
And be veri veri carefull wit SPIEN fuse bit if you use PonyProg. The SPIEN hav to be enabled everi time you read and write atmega.SPIEN fuse=IN SISTEM PROGRAMMING
If you disable dis fuse and write device after comunication is no longer posible by ISP onli bi HVPP(hig voltage paralel programing)

Hi Stefaudio, I understand that his problem is not at that far. The MCU clock source has been configured wrongly. So, need an oscillator (not a crystal) of something freq. of 2-8 Mhz to connected to pin XTAL1 and now he can play on his programmer again.

Hi COSMIND yes you cant enable/disable SPIEN(wit PONY)

But if SPIEN fuse is enabled(in first place)in atmega, and you load some compled project file in which SPIEN is disabled and program dhis file this is end of serial comunication with atmega,ok but if you load same bad file with disabled SPIEN and befor***1077; you make mistake to loadit to mcu you can reed original fuse bits(where spien is activ) and dhere spien fuse is enabled just push OK buton and programmer will program rigt for you fuse bits.
I am not so good with explanations but i hope you understand woth i mean
    REGARDS STEFAN
