    Default oil sump socket

hi guys, just been under car to see wot size socket I need to remove the sump plug and found it was not the 8mm socket I thought it was, the sump bolt is defo square but a tinny bit smaller than a 8mm square socket, so I was thinking 7mm but they dont seem to sell them, could it be a 5/8 or something like that I need? any help would be great...

it should be 8mm if square rusted, crap inside or road contact may have made it smaller.

ah, I thought that might be the case as the 8mm socket I have does go in about half way then stops, so wot I will do is clean out the square best I can and lightly tap the socket the rest of the way in until it makes proper contact.

    cheers bud................c
