Default Audi MMI 3G High US to EU conversion , frequency step , language , map

    Hello ,

I want to share my experience with converting an Audi MMI 3G High from US firmware , map and radio frequency to the European ones . None of the solutions described here are my own work , I just want to gather them all toghether for future searches . Problems :

    1. radio frequency step

    2. firmware - languages and map

    Solutions :

    1. Radio frequency step is set to 0.1 Mhz by changing first byte of long coding from 02 to 01/00 . Unfortunately it can't be done without a proper login (Unknown yet ? ) so you have two choices :

    - read the 24C256 eeprom in the Radio unit , modify 8th byte on line 1060 from 02 to 00

    - buy OBD 11 and use the function

    https://obdeleven.com/en/

    2. Map- changing regions can be done in the Engineering menu , the complete guide here :

    https://www.audienthusiasts.com/Info...on_Change.html

Using this method you can install EU map , and have an option to keep using English US or Spanish US of French Canadian , but if you install the latest EU firmwire to have EU languages you will have a nice surprise after MMI restart : no menu text is displayed , don't panic - now you have to edit MMI eeprom . Solutions are :

    - edit with ODIS E , adress 5F , 010 Data transfer , 010.02 Memory cells , start at adress hex 1430 , dec 200 cells , login 21055 (first type of login )and start editing . Photos in attachment . The end should look like this :

    00 00 00 00 00 31 30 16 45 65 6E 5F 55 53 65 6E
    5F 55 53 65 6E 5F 55 53 31 4A A4 CA 03 65 6E 5F
    55 53 66 72 5F 43 41 65 73 5F 55 53 64 65 5F 44
    45 65 6E 5F 47 42 66 72 5F 46 52 65 73 5F 45 53
    69 74 5F 49 54 70 74 5F 50 54 6E 6C 5F 4E 4C 72
    75 5F 52 55 70 6C 5F 50 4C 63 73 5F 43 5A 74 72
    5F 54 52 73 76 5F 53 45 6C 74 5F 4C 54 00 00 00

    - edit vith VCP , a good guide :

    https://cartechnology.co.uk/showthre...7191#pid347191

-read EEPROM 24C64 - last resort , more info on EEPROM here :

    https://www.audienthusiasts.com/Info...nt_EEPROM.html

After MMI restart the text will be back .

Feel free to add any pertinent information . This is not my work , thanks to all that published pieces of information on this forum and others - you know who you are .

    Have a good one .
