Question Firewall settings Lan connected Technomate

My Netgear router is connected by LAN cable to my Technomate Super. The firewall rules are set on the default settings see below.
    Firewall Rules

    Outbound Services
    # Enable Service Name Action LAN Users WAN Servers Log
Default Yes Any ALLOW always Any Any Never

    Inbound Services
    # Enable Service Name Action LAN Server IP address WAN Users Log
Default Yes Any BLOCK always Any Any Never

    Instant Messaging (IM) Ports
    Close IM Ports
Open IM Ports(IM ports are open by default)

Should these be altered for connecting to a server?

Do you want to connect your technomate to a server outside you lan (somewhere on the internet)?

If you want to allow the TM to connect to a website or server on the internet, then that will work fine, if you want to allow connections to the TM, like on the 9100 Super that has a http server then you need to create a rule that allows the port in to the IP of the TM:

By default most firewalls allow anything out, but nothing in.
